Scraps & Skeins is a fabulous and fantastic creative reuse store in State College. It is a wonderful place with a great mission, providing job opportunities for people facing mental health challenges through wonderful volunteers and amazing, friendly, helpful, and lovely staff. The shop offers a great selection of affordable, thrifted, vintage, and unusual materials, including fabrics, yarns, threads, notions, knitting needles, quilt fabric, vintage buttons, and other craft and sewing items. The selection is constantly added to through community donations, saving reusable textiles from the landfill and allowing everyone to swap and recycle supplies. The thrill is in the hunt for cool, beautiful, and pleasingly priced items, from fairy tale fabrics to out-of-this-world yarns. This shop democratizes crafting, making it accessible and sustaining creativity. The overall experience is amazing, and the community is very lucky to have this inviting shop where purchases support a very worthy cause.

This is an amazing little shop. Every town should have a place to buy second hand craft supplies. Everyone was wonderfully nice! It was worth the trip

This place is fabulous! I've been wanting to come here for a while and can finally make it with my summer schedule. They have a great selection of fabrics, yarns, threads, notions, and more. The folks were friendly and welcoming and I will definitely be coming back soon. :)

The staff are always very cheerful and welcoming. A variety of crafting supplies at very affordable pricing!
