Our go-to State College Auto mechanic! Honest, reliable and reasonably priced. They've been taking care of our vehicles for many years.

Leave your politics at the door! No seriously. Like me, you are probably reading the reviews from this place, and you likely disagree with the politics of the proprietors. You may think that the politics signal some sort of bad service, and the low scored reviews reflect the service rendered rather than some political bias. While I am absolutely certain there are very few ways Nick (the gentleman who serviced my lawn mower) and I overlap politically, I can confidently say that avoiding Stoicheff's due to my own political beliefs would have robbed me of excellent service. We live in such a tremendously divided society, don't let that rob you from a hard working, honest, and price-conscious shop. Ignore the politically-charged reviews and give this shop a chance for your small engine repair needs.

These guys have saved my skin so many times by having obscure parts in stock! They have small engine parts, every belt size imaginable, and do a great job with trailer inspections. Nick is great to deal with! I've been going there for years and I've never had a bad experience no matter what I'm there for. They just had something so rare in stock (that I needed) that it finally got me to write a review, which I seldom do.

Nick is the man, they do a great job with repair work. I take my small engines and trailer for them to fix and I can’t say enough about the work and communication. They have a little of everything that I need and would recommend them for sure. Go Bears!!

More worried about right wing politics than parts. These people have issues. Better options available

Unless you're an angry Trump MAGA, this isn't for you. Trump conspiracy flags and signs all across the front windows when you walk in. It's really weird. Saw one guy working and a few others not doing much. Hey, it's a free country. They're free to say they're MAGA idiots and I'm free to never do business there again. I'm not against Republicans, I just don't like snowflake MAGA who can't get over losing.

These guys are wild. Trump 2020 flags and stuff in all the windows. I showed up to get a pick up I reserved online (on the uhaul website) and the guy working the desk was rude. I guess he was in a bad mood because the Chinese guys in line before me didn't speak English well. Then he wanted me to go move my car and come back before he would rent the truck to me because they don't "offer" parking. At that point I just got went down the road and got a Penske truck at home depot instead. The people at HD were much more helpful and the truck cost less for the afternoon. Don't waste your time with this place.

I asked for a receipt or work order from them for trailer brake module installation that was schedule the following day. I was asked to leave my keys and vehicle in the poorly maintained parking lot. No paper work, the associate didn’t take any information from me i.e. drivers license or name, essentially no information that distinguishes me from any Joe Schmoe on earth. His response to my asking why was “do you really think I’m going to steal your car?” As if I was a complete fool for requesting documentation … I did not think that at all, I also did not feel that asking for a work order or receipt was outrageous. They then told me that they did not want to business with me and ask me to leave, because they have no clue what a work order is, “and they don’t do that s***** I went in retrieved my keys, as I was leaving and explaining to my wife what had happened the associate who was rude to me was walking by and said “ if you have something else to say, you can say it to my face”… I agreed to say exactly what I was telling my wife to his face. After this he realized and agreed that what I was looking for was indeed not outrageous. Then still refused to do business with me because I mentioned the price of my explorer, and how ludicrous it would be leave my keys anywhere with no documentation… the price of the vehicle was only brought up because it would be very easy for someone to walk in and say that it was their explorer and pay the price of a brake control module installation for a new explorer… because there would be no evidence to prove or disprove that it was said individuals vehicle due to the lack of documentation…

I’ve been using Stoicheff’s for years. Still the most honest place I’ve ever used. This time was my trailer. In and out as promised, and now I’m ready to travel. I recommend them to everyone.

My family has been patronizing this business for over 30 years; I got a Haines manual for my first car there, when I was 16, 20+ years ago. Stoicheff’s has some of the best prices in town and is a local, family and veteran owned and operated business. I can’t really ask for much more than that, in this day and age. Keep up the great work guys!

I took my Toyota pick-up to Stoicheff's for a repair. It took well over a month for them to complete it (four times the estimate) and it cost me over $1400. When it was finally time to get my vehicle, I drove it for ten miles and found it had the same overheating issue as when I had dropped it off. I also found they had just installed an old corroded thermostat and that the front windshield had a large crack across it. They begrudgingly agreed to fix the windshield but flatly refused to take the vehicle back to finish the repair (their attempt at a compromise).Hands down the worst repair shop I've ever encountered.

Pretty terrible place...came to rent a uhaul and was just yelled at the entire time. The parking lot was very poorly marked/not marked at all, so I was surprised to be met with a tantrum when I simply asked the man "where should I park". The service is fine, I guess, but it's not worth being belittled and treated like trash
