Book here if you don't mind staying at the Super 8!! They don't honor online reservations and them blame you for not booking direct. On top of all that they were terribly rude.

Bad ratio quality/price. Cost of a 5stars but room and services lower than a motel (where at least there is a free breakfast). Need refurbishment. Day 2 of our stay we returned late and discover that they didt make up the room. Bad experience

So the facility is not brand new and the rooms may be a bit dated but they are comfortable and clean. The food in the The Field restaurant is pretty limited to mostly burgers and fries, but they are good and fairly priced. There are lots of other dining options nearby. But the main reason to come to Toftrees: the golf course here is a solid 10, one of the nicest I've played anywhere. The conditions were exceptional, the greens fast, tricky, and true, the bunkers are well maintained with beautiful sugar sand, and the track is tough but fair with reasonable landing areas and beautiful rolling views. If you love golf, this is one you don't want to miss.

Rooms are outdated but nice. The front desk was very helpful. Housekeeping was very fast and responsive. The golf shop attendants were nice and helpful. The course was great condition and the pace of play was decent. 3:45 for a round of 18.
Rooms: Rooms need to be updated. Still has the 80s tile in the bathrooms.
Safety: Very safe area. Minus a few critters that come out at night.

Stayed there for conference rooms are ok. They were a little dated, but that was also during the winter. The field restaurant was delicious. Just played the golf course last week. Very nice course. Greens are fast, and the fairways are nice. Very challenging course. It can get busy, and the pace is good. The renovation of the course is awesome. The main hotel is also scheduled for a renovation as well.
Rooms: Nice rooms when I stayed there is a renovation planned soon
Nearby activities: Close to Penn State, multiple parks and activities around town.
Food and drinks: Great food at thr restaurant

We were only able to book a suite since the place was booked solid with what appeared to be a travel girls softball team.
The suite was very spacious with 2 bathrooms and a tv in each room and had a small balcony.
Not sure how often the suite is booked because there was an empty water bottle behind the bedside stand. There was a stain on the side of the toilet, appears that could be easily wiped away. And found a lot of dirt and dead bugs in the window track.
There was an odd odor in the halls and the structure and decor quite dated.

This is my first and last time I will be staying here. Despite the mixed reviews, I wanted to give it a try given the location and was extremely disappointed with the room. They should not call themselves a resort. Everything is dated, the bathrooms were not clean, bedsheets had some weird smell like they had been in a closet for long, no smart tv for a 3-star hotel, definitely rooms need an upgrade. It just felt like I was living in a basement. Housekeeping was supposed to be upon request and despite me calling twice, they never came. So in a 3 night stay, the room was not cleaned, the super small trash cans overflowed and I ran out of toilet paper( no extra in the bathroom). The swimming pool had flies floating and no towels in the locker room and nobody was around to be able to help. The only good thing was that they provided me with a rollaway bed that I had requested, although it was too uncomfortable to sleep in. They should stop charging so much for a 2 start experience

We booked a stay at this Resort, we drove 3 1/2 hrs for a football event we were surprising our children with. When we arrived I was greeted by a guy with long hair, we received the room key and came up to our room where the bed sheets were filthy dirty with stains and globs of hair, so shows the housekeepers didn’t even touch the room. I went back downstairs after coming up the stairs with all of our bags, and complained to the same person who checked me in, I asked to have my room changed he stated that he COULD
NOT change the room I was assigned because the rooms that were available were for other guest that had a reservation but yet hadn’t arrived and that he was not giving them a dirty room but it was ok to give me and my family a dirty room, I checked in with my 3 small children, the fact that he showed no care, at all was really disgusting, this man had the audacity to tell me that there was no housekeeping staff available to change the sheets that all he can do was hand me some clean sheets and I can could change them myself, I them told him I was not touching sheets with stains and someone else’s hair, so what he did was he came up to our room removed the sheets off the bed left the sheets on the table and said he was not changing the sheets and that I would have to use the same comforter with stains that was on the bed because there were no comforters available, which had me confused does this place only have 1 comforter per room, I have never in my life been so disgusted and grossed out. The fact that he felt it’s ok to treat his customers the way he did was even more disgusting. I asked if the manager was available he felt the need to tell me that he was the front desk supervisor and there was no manger available but him. My husband and I are disappointed we stayed the night because it was very late at night to try and find another place with our kids, in an area we don’t even know, we were exhausted from the long drive. My husband ended up putting the sheets on the bed, because our boys were cranky and drained. Talk about poor Customer service, the room didn’t even have a fridge nor microwave. The AC kept shutting off, my son and I are severe asthmatic and kept waking up in the middle of the night from the mugginess and in the room
Rooms: Disgustingly dirty, muggy and smelled moldy

Yes, the rooms and bathrooms are "out-dated", but it's not like 70's or 80's out-dated, more like 90s, early 2000. The side that has the restaurant is much more modern. The location is very peaceful and it's about 7-15 mins away from shops and restaurants. The food at the restaurant was very good as far as lunch and dinner, breakfast was buffet style and the warm foods were not great. Staff was also friendly. The pool is very nice and is cared for. We would definitely stay again. And would recommend my friends and family to stay also.

The room was clean, quiet and adequate for any travelers who would use it for sleep and showers. A microwave and some USB ports would make the room more convenient. The TV in our room was 32”.
Room cleaning service is upon request.
There is ample parking very close to the rooms.
The one (and only) restaurant in the premises makes excellent burgers. It was very busy, and appeared to be popular with both locals and visitors.
Possibly for golfers, this hotel may offer a lot more than it did for us, we mostly stayed because of the proximity to the university campus -and we would stay again in the future.
Food and drinks: The hotel restaurant has great food and service.
