So many problems. They close their service window quite often without notice, they do not always have window staff with access to the cash drawer, they don't answer their phone, they have lost my mail more than once and their postmaster does not return phone calls. They deserve to be privatized.

I dropped off a padded envelope package at the mailbox by the Swarthmore Inn. It has been over three weeks and it has not been scanned. I called the center and a Black woman with a very nasty attitude picked up and said that since it hasn't been scanned they can't do anything and I have to wait until 30 days have passed to file a report. Make sure to always drop your small packages at a location because the mail carriers and sorters do not care about your parcels!UPDATE: After hours of reporting my package finally got a update in a few hours. Still in NJ when it's headed to AZ after almost 4 weeks! The next day the rude woman called back and stated she is not Black and that she is the supervisor there. She was more nasty and unprofessional than she was previously. Her name is supposedly Brandy. You'll identify her by her deep rough hostile voice. It's a shame the college people have to actually deal with her when they mail packages.

I ship tons of packages (about 20,000 an year). This is my go to post office. The manager is very helpful and supportive. And 2020 was a tough year for all post office employees. Everyone souls appreciate their hard work.

They need to learn how to answer the dam phone. Been calling for over an hour and no one ever picks up. Absolutely horrible

I had sent out two packages just before a holiday.I advised the receivers that they might be later then expected due to the holiday. Although they were both supposed to be there the Friday before. One package got there and the other didn't. I called the post office to find out whats going on. They said give me a few days to look into it. It is now a week and a half later and nothing has been done about it. The lady gave me a sob story of someone is in the hospital. We all have family problems. Take some personal time. Bridget then told me she would go up higher above her but nothing has changed. She has been running me in circles for a week now and I am not happy.

I was pleasantly surprised to encounter a polite woman at the desk who assisted me. The office was empty when I arrived and I was in and out very quickly.

They don't know how to do their own job. I brought a package that need to be tapped shut and mailed out with a packing slip that needed to be taped on. She wouldn't do anything. She gave me shitty scotch tape to use or i could buy a huge full roll of actual packing tape. After already taking 15 minutes to ship out two peoples' packages and then telling me to come prepared instead of actually doing their job she wasted even more of my time. Her name was Nikita. Not to mention I have had many rent checks get lost due to this post office. They're mail people and can't even do their jobs correctly.

The worst customer service. I have event experienced. Tape Cost $3.50, so I used the tape I had, that was not good enough. I have used this tape numerous times and never heard of such. Poor customer service 😢

Mail delivery here seems to be too complicated for some of Swarthmore's carriers. Two men deliver my mail throughout the week. One of them (middle-aged white guy, grey hair, is the laziest person I have ever seen. Today's mail was thrown on the porch in the rain. The mailbox, which everyone else seems able to operate, is three feet away. In the 10 years I've lived here, I've never gotten mail the Friday before a three-day weekend. My elderly neighbor actually thinks it is normal for the post office to not deliver for an extra day around every holiday. No, it's just our guy who can't operate a mailbox even on the days he does work. I live on 7th Avenue near Girard. Can't this guy get a desk job? My other guy is fantastic, by the way.

"Surly Postman: 19081" (the "star" of my earlier review) has long since left this post office. These days service at this branch is generally courteous, though the lines are often long and seldom fast. One thing to watch for: there is one employee who routinely overcharges for shipping. I weigh and measure my packages with the USPS online shipping calculator, but the price I'm quoted at this post office is almost ALWAYS higher. For a while I thought I was just doing something wrong, but the last couple of times after getting quotes that were much higher than I expected, I took my packages to different post offices and paid exactly what the online calculator said I SHOULD pay. Last week I was quoted a $3.50 shipping charge for a 1.5-ounce legal envelope that contained nothing but several folded sheets of paper (we used to call these "letters" back in the day). I took it to another post office and was charged $0.71. When I've asked about these pricing discrepancies this employee has always been very nice--but also very firm in citing arcane postal rules that always seem to apply to whatever I'm shipping. It's possible that this employee is correct and that the other post offices are staffed with people not as up on USPS code. But when it comes to postage, I'll take cheap and rule-breaking, thanks.

I was quite surprised to find a very pleasant woman at the desk when I entered. After experiencing some pretty bad service at multiple other post offices, this location was a refreshing change. I was in and out quickly and I will be sure to use this location from now on.

Four stars for quaintness! It's so cute out front, with the gardens. I love it.
