i frequently visit this location, and just recently they've decided that the self checkout now require some kind of assistance from an associate; however it's inconsistent. While the associate demanded that they HAVE TO ring me up the guests next to me were no assisted in anyway. It literally now makes me no longer want to visit this location.

It is unnecessary for the workers to grab my items and assist in checkout when it is self checkout. Not one but two employees attempted to assist me in ringing up simple items. And reading the rest of the reviews this is a common occurrence

I went here to pick up some snacks for my trip home. I was surrounded by two workers because I attempted to price check an item at a self check out register. I was told by both workers at the same time that I'm not allowed to check myself out at lord and behold a self check out machine. I don't understand why it took two workers to surround me but what's even more baffling is if an establishment doesn't want you to self check out how about you (genius idea) GET RID OF THE SELF CHECKOUT MACHINE. After all of the self check out not really self check out drama the candy they sold me was expired. So be prepared to have them check you out at the "self check out" but not do their actual job of checking inventory.

There is nothing wrong with the service at Five below BUT…why am I being hand held at the self checkout when I’m just trying to buy a single soda? I had an associate touching the self checkout screen for me and I’m literally a 23 year old who WORKED at five below a few years ago (when they had real registers in Stroudsburg). Literally felt insulting. THEN he asked for me to complete the survey at the end and I’m on my way to work so no sorry I have to skip the survey. I felt bad but I shouldn’t feel forced to do a survey. ALL IM TRYING TO DO IS GRAB A SODA! @fivebelow, please stop the surveys and this hand holding at check out. I get it if I needed help, but all it is is a soda.

Store Was clean employees where stocking merchandise. Great selection there .there where lot of employees at check out to help check me out . So my experience was great here. Don't know about the past here can only speak about what I see and know of the time I was at that store .

I’ve been to this five below many times and usually don’t have issues. Everybody is very nice most of the time but I was just in there and am really upset at how I was treated. I was buying a bottle of water and some face masks. I couldn’t find where the masks were so a worker took me over to them. They were in the $1 section (literally all the boxes of masks were) and none of them were priced and they also didn’t have a price marker below them so, like anybody else would, I assumed they were $1. I get up to the register and scan one of the boxes and it says $5, so I pointed to where I had just grabbed them and told the girl that they were $1. She clearly could not understand what I was saying and kept saying it was for the other side. Meanwhile it was right in front of all the other masks and products advertising them for $1???? She grabs a manager and he argues that “They’re in the middle of moving stuff so he’s not giving it to me for $1” (even though it’s clearly marked for $1). They make me out to be some stupid customer, even though I work in the store right next to them and know how retail works. Whenever something is marked wrong at my store I ALWAYS give it to the customer at that price cause that’s what’s fair! I ended up not even getting the masks because of it. I love five below and have never had an issue until now. Even if you are in the middle of moving stuff, you can still use a price gun to mark it individually so the customer knows?? You can’t just assume everybody knows your pricing lmfao. We’re in the middle of moving stuff at my store as well and we’re still able to price everything. It’s not hard.

This five below has bad management or they're being told information from the district manager that is setting them up to fail. Why would you have an associate checking people out at ONE self checkout instead of checking people out at the regular register. That defeats the purpose of it be "self checkout" if you have an associate breathing down my neck and bagging my merchandise at a self checkout. Then you have one cashier running back and forth from putting away stock, to checking people out. Get a bigger budget to have at least 3 associates in the store. Also, store is very messy. I will stick to the Stroudsburg locations because its clear these 2 five belows are being told different things.

Messy store. Not enough people on the floor to assist with getting things from the back or asking where merchandise is located.
