About Tobyhanna State Park
Tobyhanna State Park is a beautiful destination for nature lovers and families, featuring stunning natural beauty, serene hiking trails, and a huge lake ideal for fishing and kayaking. The park offers a variety of amenities, including a busy beach area and well-maintained facilities. Visitors can enjoy activities like geology walks led by knowledgeable park educators, who provide engaging insights into the area's history and nature. However, some campers have noted that the sites can be small and close together, leading to a lack of privacy. Additionally, certain amenities like dishwashing sinks and bathroom facilities have received mixed reviews regarding their functionality. Bears have been spotted in the area, indicating that proper food storage is important. While the park can be busy and noisy at times, especially in the evenings, it remains a favorite for those looking to enjoy the outdoors. Overall, Tobyhanna State Park is recommended for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities, though visitors should be mindful of some of the limitations mentioned.
Went later on in the day. Water has a bit of a reddish hue to it but overall clean. Bathrooms were clean and showers are 50Cents for 2 minutes so have quarters handy.

Good for relaxing and playing in water. Beach is smaller but overall big park. DOGS NOT ALLOWED on beach, but if you walk along the lake trial, there are some lake access points quiet and away from crowd, great to play with your dog in water. Crowded in summer on weekends as expected but much peaceful in weekdays.
