Giving Pond Recreation Area is a peaceful and scenic spot near the Delaware River, offering a quiet escape from busier parks. The large pond is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding, with no gas-powered boats allowed, ensuring calm waters. Visitors enjoy easy and scenic walking trails that connect to the river, making it a great place for bird-watching, with herons, egrets, songbirds, and even bald eagles often seen. Fishing is also popular, though anglers may need to move along the shoreline for better spots depending on the season. The area is dog-friendly, with plenty of room to walk leashed dogs, and features a small picnic area accessible via a short hike from the parking lot. The scenery is complemented by the sounds of nature, including the flight of ospreys and other waterfowl. The area is spacious, easy to enjoy with friends and family, and located close to New York. Visitors often remark on its peaceful atmosphere and friendly environment. However, parking is limited and not always easy to find, especially on weekends when tickets may be issued for parking outside designated areas. Facilities are minimal, with no large restrooms or concessions, so visitors should plan accordingly. Overall, Giving Pond is a beautiful, low-key spot perfect for relaxing, hiking, birding, picnicking, and enjoying nature’s tranquility.
An absolute blast to fish here, unfortunately there arent to many places to bank fish from. But the view is beautiful, especially early morning. The Osprey flying above, the sounds of nature really fill your ears here.

I really enjoyed this pond. It was hard to find cause it’s not visible from the road but I thought it was peaceful and everyone was friendly!

Lovely spot to kayak, between the river and the canal.
