My car was confiscated on I76 way back in June. At the evident moment I gave the guy my information I was never informed or contacted about my vehicle. I also never gave him the okay to Authorize the junking of my car. It’s now been too long and I gave up the search. My Vehicle was supposed to be here as I was informed when I signed it off to these people. Now she’s no where to be found. I’ll be calling again very soon.

Do not take your car here. They will charge you in storage fees if the fix is less than what they expected. If you need fix that’s needed to be handled by your insurance. They will charge you storage fees without letting you know until it’s time to pick up your car. Do not trust these “folk”

My car was towed here after an accident. Same story as most of the others: Car was hit while parked, and shortly after a guy (independent, but presumably paid by Modern Auto) showed up and offered me a tow.My car was held for weeks as the insurance claim process played out (multiple cars were involved, so there was some confusion over who's claim would be covering it, with multiple inspectors involved). At every step of the process, the shop would fail to inform me any time there was a hold up that required my attention, forcing me to constantly check in. Not ideal, but fine, I can do that. However, they would go days, or even weeks on end without answering the phones, with an inbox that was always full. Insurance would tell me I had to contact them, and they would be unreachable for long periods.I eventually got through to them by leaving a review saying that they never answered their phones, which was dragging out an already frustratingly long process with insurance. That got the owner's attention. He immediately wrote me an insulting response, told me they wouldn't do business with people like me, and that I had to remove it from his lot the next day.I arranged to do so, and informed them I'd have a tow truck come the following afternoon. Then I was told it would have to be towed in the morning. I hastily made the last minute arrangements to do that. When I arrived that morning, the owner (Pete Kathopoulis) accosted me and started trying to blame the insurance company, despite my complaint being that his own company was drawing out the process by making themselves unreachable. He literally threatened to jump over the counter and beat me up, called me a slur, and then berated me for appearing scared. By this point, yes, I was visibly shaking due to adrenaline. I didn't know what this shockingly unprofessional maniac was going to do. This was a guy who flew off the handle at someone who'd made a very reasonable complaint about his company never picking up the phone! If there's a bare minimum that auto shops who take possession of people's cars should be held to, it's to not be completely unavailable for extended periods with no explanation. For whatever reason, I wasn't charged to get my car out. Perhaps he didn't want to throw more fuel on the "this guy is a shameless crook" accusations that are a common thread in these reviews.Afterwards, I received a threatening e-mail from Pete, alleging that I was abusive to his employees (my only interaction with any employees was a curt "thanks" to the cashier as she handed me my keys), and that if I didn't remove my negative review, he would sue me. On what grounds, I have no idea. My wife recorded the altercation (with his knowledge) in which he threatened to beat me up, so I suspect he's just in the habit of intimidating people.Story's conclusion: After over a month stuck in Pete's drawn out limbo, the second place I towed it to worked out the remaining snags with insurance, kept me informed, ordered the parts within a few days, and had it repaired about a week later.

Complete scam they held my husbands car hostage and tried to lie and say it was totaled to keep it. Told our tow guy "won't accept your welfare check" when they tried to pay with a business check for our charges to pick up the car. Completely unprofessional once they know you don't want work done on your car there. They pay wreck chasers big $$$ to go around bullying people into singing for a tow minutes after accidents so they can take them there and start charging people over $700 a day in fees. Even the local police department says they are regularly looked into for fraud. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

This predatory company showed up to the scene of my car accident, tried to convince me to not wait for the cops, then held my car hostage for 4 days before charging 3,000 dollars to my insurance to get it released. Then, they forgot to give the keys when the car was transferred to a repair shop, and refused to bring it themselves even though it was their mess up. These guys suck. If you ever get in a car accident and see their logo, tell them you'll wait for the next guy.

unprofessional, rude, liars. from the tow guy at my accident "recommending" this place, (im sure he gets a fee) to "greg" the tow driver on modern lot talking on his phone and blatantly ignoring me to the guy in the office lying to me telling me he will lock my car and roll up my windows. which he didn't, even after i called the next am to confirm because of impending rain. blatant liar. i would never ever recommend this tow lot/repair shop to anyone. in fact run from there. ugh!!! Now they're blocking my calls. Unbelievable.

At 1130pm on July 4th we heard a very loud and aggressive banging on our door. The individual who was knocking on our door informed us that our car was hit by a drunk driver. At first, we thought this person was just trying to be helpful and notify us about this situation but it turned out that the reason he came pounding on our door in middle of the night was because he worked for Modern Auto Crafters and wanted permission to tow our car. This all happened very quickly and we realize that it was our mistake to let this person, Ricki, tow our car. We should have waited until the next day and we have to own that mistake. However, I am writing this review so that people are aware of this company's shocking and outrageous behavior. If they come knocking at your door asking to tow your car, whatever you do, DO NOT LET THEM. This is their entire business model. I see in some previous reviews they claim not to be a towing company and yet every bad review here seems to have the same theme: they towed our car and then it took a full week for us to get our car out of their lot. Our case was no exception. Ricki conveniently failed to inform us that they would be closed for another week. This was the Monday night on July 4th, the end of a three day weekend. When our insurance company called them the next morning they had an automated message saying that they would be closed for another week. The only reason they would've kept this information from us is because this is their shady business model: get people to tow their cars and then keep it for as long as possible. When I texted Ricki to ask him about this he simply said "sorry about the miscommunication". There was no miscommunication. He deliberately did not tell us that they would be closed for another week. Because of this, 32 days later, our car is still not repaired. Had it not been for this intentional delay by modern auto crafters we would have had our vehicle back by now. I hope that someone sues this company for this shocking and unconscionable business practices. This is not an honest way to make money off of people. They should be ashamed of themselves. Before posting this review, I called Modern Auto to ask if they can give me a clear reason as to why they didn't tell us that they would be closed for an extra week. After spending five minutes debating with the woman who answered the call, who tried to convince me that this delay isn't their fault, a male who I believe is the boss got on the phone and asked "so what do you want?" I told him that I just wanted a straight answer as to why I wasn't informed that they would be closed for another week. His response was "you will not be talking s**** Hang up the phone m*********** and don't call back". Please consider this before allowing this company to go anywhere near your car.
