This HR Block closes at 6, however the associate locked the doors at 4:30 when I asked to make an appointment. It’s very inconvenient, don’t expect to be seen without an appointment.

I normally do my own taxes, but due to a special situation, I wanted a professional. If they couldn't even properly schedule/keep an appointment, then how could I possibly trust them with my taxes.

I will not name the tax '"pro" I worked with but I will say they overcharge. They do not care about your situation, they will overcharge for sure. Turbo Tax I recommend.

Not only is Alice a patient, kind and personable person to work with but also extremely knowledgeable and amazing at what she does. First time filing taxes as an independent contractor and Alice made it a breeze for me. Reception is also always welcoming and helpful. 5 stars all around! :)

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!!! Needing help with my 2020 taxes due to dealing with a Cancer rediagnosis & extremely hard chemotherapy. I didn't know what to do as it was too late for me to do them myself as usual. Seeing that this H&R Block was open I walked in & the minute I explained my situation to Alice, I knew I came to the right place, especially after shopping around trying to find a cheaper price. There wasn't one! Doing my taxes, Alice explained everything & even gave me some tips! Highly recommend this office, especially Alice. It's nice having 1 less thing to worry about these days.

Tax preparer Alice Maxwell worked on the paperwork I dropped off several days before our appointment. She e-mailed me to let me know what information was missing and worked on materials I e-mailed to her - again- before our appointment. She went the extra mile to get us whatever deductions she could and seemed to really enjoy her work. Note: the receptionist did a great job, but the office could use two people up front- she was really juggling phone calls and drop in customers, and many of these folks were stressed and not very nice.

I will NEVER use H&R block again....I'd rather not lose another 2k!Where do I start?I had made an appointment weeks in advance, and even got a call from the office confirming the appointment a week beforehand. I show up at my scheduled day/time, and I am not in the system. The tax pro (whom I had used once previously) seemed apologetic and offered to hold onto my paperwork until I was able to come in again for another appointment (which turned out to be 5 days later). Later on that day same day, that same tax pro called me and informed me that he had filed my paperwork and that everything would be ready for pickup in a few days. Mind you, I did not approve for "drop off" filing. The reason I made a sit down appointment was to have a sit down appointment.Five days later, the day of my new appointment, the tax pro called me and told me I could come in early to grab my paperwork. I came in about an hour and a half earlier then scheduled. This man didn't even take 5 minutes to sit down and explain things to me. He rushed to fit me in between clients, had me sign off on something (which I find out later was only half-explained) and charged me $450+ dollars for a 3 second appointment. During this short appointment, he informed me that I had over 2k in tax returns. There I was 3 weeks later with no return check. I went back in to check my paperwork, and I soon find out that though I had over 2k in tax returns, my tax pro WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, applied my return to the upcoming year. Mind you, I paid estimated taxes during 2020. He did NOT ask me what I wanted to do with the return and went ahead and filed this without clarifying. That couple thousand dollars that I could have spent on rent or loans is now in the governments hands, completely interest free. Do you think I would have given up a 2k return check if i had been properly asked?Of course, the tax pro I used is gone for the tax season. I made another appointment with another pro, hoping they'd be able to do something for me. Boy was I WRONG. The "senior tax analyst" had no idea how to handle the situation and couldn't even tell me what I could do to solve it. She started GOOGLING things in front of me and even asked, "What do you think we should do?" She eventually gave me the number for the IRS and said, "You could try calling and see if they can stop it." She also told me to my face that my tax pro was not supposed apply a return to the upcoming year without my permission, but blamed it on the idea of "he was probably busy". This woman then filed a complaint to try and refund my $450 dollars back but it's been almost a month, and of course...NOTHING.This branch had staff that were completely unhelpful and a complete waste of my time. I am now out 2,000 plus dollars in addition to the money that went to the tax pro.
