Received a nice coat as a gift but it didnt fit so I returned it. Got a new shirt and ordered a mens jacket online. Not a lot of mens selection but of what there is, its good. Can't speak to the womens stuff as much but I hear great things

Best store! Employees and managers are the most welcoming and so helpful in the Wayne, PA location.

Love the selection usually, but other times I walk in and all I see is crop tops and cheap pants. I say that with love - because I am a loyal bathing suit and shoe customer. Sometimes I wish you guys would up your clothing game!

They have a line of jewelry made by Joie Digiovanni and the pieces are gorgeous! The designer was there and she was the sweetest person. Joie explained how she hand drills the pearls herself and I found that to be so amazing. You can tell she puts her hard work and heart into her collection. She has a website of her own that I've been on and now I am looking to get something for my daughter for her birthday (probably one of the gold nugget bracelets). If you visit the store don't pass up Joie Digiovanni Jewelry! : )

I recently went into South Moon Under and could not be happier with the experience I had. The workers approached me and helped me through the whole process. They were not too pushy and yet talked me into trying on my first pair of skinny jeans. To my surprise they have become my staple item for the fall. I am definitely coming back for holiday shopping. They have great gifts and great stuff to fill my waredrobe. The prices are not too steep, but you are getting what you pay for. The clothes are great quality and will last not just one season!

I have been there and will never go again. It is overpriced and the staff is awful. I was wearing green pumas the last time I was there. I was looking at new summer shoes for vacation when I overheard the salesgirl and a customer saying I would never find anything like those here. It was insane. I was so mad I walked out. I have since moved out of the area and surprised they are still around.

From the other reviews that I'm just reading about this place, I'm going to have to agree. I was just here the other day and they paid ZERO attention to me. No greeting at the door, no "how can I help you?", nothing. However, they were totally fussing over this girl who said she couldn't try anything on because she got a spray tan an hour before because she's leaving for FL the next day. Now, I was coming from work, so I was dressed professionally, not like some slob off the street. I gave them plenty of opportunities for them to at least say HELLO to me...I really should've walked out of there and said "Thanks so much for helping me out today!" Maybe they would've gotten a clue. P.S. They're stuff is way overpriced anyway. You can find stuff just as cute, if not cuter, at other stores. Gotta love the Main Line.

I must say the reviews here are very shocking, I have never had but a great experience here. The girls have always been helpful and very pleasant. IF I MAY ADD A COMMENT .... THE young lady who claims that she was denied 20% off sale items, i am wondering if your cousin still work at SMU in Maryland? If she is, and giving an extra 20% off of already on sale items then she may need to be reevaluated for her position because chances are SMU Maryland is losing money . Also in that case you should of asked your cousin to ship you the merchandise from her store and stand behind her 20% off coupon on sales items. To use this forum to lash out at SMU Wayne when all they did was follow the policy of the company is ridiculous !!!! This is a perfect example of family members thinking they can get something for nothing because their relative works for the company !!!! Shame on you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had heard commercials for south moon under over the years, but the marketing always made it seem like it was a designer jean store and that was it....so even though it is next to my favorite store (anthro) i never made the trek... flash forward to yesterday's thanksgiving feast and catching up with relatives from far away places...silly me, but I never knew my cousin was a store manager of a SMU in Maryland...i knew she ran a boutique, but I never learned the name...i thought SMU was only a philly area biz... when i told her how I spent 7 hours with no luck at the mall looking for a cute outfit to go to a party in, she quickly whipped out her business card and wrote on the back 20% EVERYTHING (if i could bold everything i would)...she even encouraged me to go the next day because there would be good black friday sales and even more discounted things to use the 20% on... so in eagerness, i went without any hope....remember 7 hours of useless mall time... and i was proven wrong....everything was cute and different and what i was looking for...sometimes the outfits were a bit pricey, but that is to be expected for a boutique...they carry free people stuff and some clubby stuff and even some casual yoga wear...despite the reviews before, the floor staff was actually helpful and took my clothes to the dressing room so i could still shop with my hands free..2 other girls did ask if i needed help...so maybe they got all new staff...for black friday, they were nice and wanting to help being that i have a hard time fitting into normal girls clothes, i didn't think anything would fit me...again, i was proven wrong...i was in the dressing room with 4 out of 5 dresses fitting me...and fitting me well....i could have shrieked with joy...and i was about to add this place on to my go to shopping places...until i got to the register... the girl who checked me out looked at my little business card with the 20% off written and told me I could only use it on non-sale stuff...i explained that my cousin, who is a STORE MANAGER told me otherwise...the SMU store manager of wayne overheard me and rudely told me i was wrong and they would not allow discounts on sales...I kept trying to explain the my cousin said everything and they kept denying me...even if they are right (which i highly doubt) they were so f-ing rude about the whole thing....I am aware of what it is like to work retail on the mainline as I have spent many a holiday season doing just the same....but i also know how to treat people...if you are denying someone something (the card said 20% off EVERYTHING) then at least be polite about it....i told them to take back 2 of the dresses and only bought 2...they could have made a much bigger sale, but no...honestly, i wanted to walk out right there but since i needed the dress for an event, i couldn't... so even though the clothes are cute and fit me well, i doubt i will be returning to SMU....when you run a business that is supposed to cater to the public, then you better know how to cater to the public and not be rude.

13 1/2 months later... I'm a reasonable person. I may not forget, but I try my best to forgive. That's how I found myself pulling into the parking lot here today with thoughts of treating myself to a cute new outfit dancing through my head. I was really, really hoping that my experience this time would be different. I was almost positive that last year's visit was a fluke. If K.M.'s review is to be believed, the employees are tired, overworked martyrs. And who knows; maybe they are. (In response to her comeback, I was in the store mid-day, not at closing. And I'm vigilant about hanging the clothes up and bringing them out of the dressing room when I'm done. You see, I'm not only a hard-core shopper, I'm also a former retail associate.) Was I greeted upon entering the store this year? NO. Did I come in around 2-2:30 on a Thursday afternoon? YES. Was the store busy? NO. Were three employees huddled together by the sweatpants/tee shirt displays? YES. Did they notice me when I walked right by them? NO. Did I try two dresses on anyway? YES. Did I have to wait, then call over to someone to let them know I wanted to do so? YES. Did they check on me, even though I was in the fitting room for about 10 minutes? NO. Did I put the dresses back on the hanger and bring them out when I was done? YES. Did I buy anything? HELL NO. I learned my lesson. I've got no more chances for South Moon Under.
