Since they lost their star pharmacist Raj, the pharmacy is SORELY lacking in customer service and delivery. The male pharmacist who replaced Raj is disengaged and not at all concerned for his customers. The only reason I've remained there this long is because Kate is the last of the originals who truly cares for her customers. Otherwise, we're out of luck and on our own.

This post is not a complaint against the drug store or the pharmacist himself, but rather it’s a reminder that each of us has to advocate for ourselves when it comes to our health. So, I got a text from Rite Aid saying that if you are over 65, you are now eligible for an additional Covid vaccine (barring any restrictions that might apply.). My Rite Aid store is the one on Phoenixville Pike, West Chester. I followed the instructions and using the online scheduling tool, scheduled an appointment to get my additional vaccine, as I was eligible.I arrived at the counter, checked in, and after a few minutes the pharmacist came out and told me I could not have the shot. He informed me that I was good for the 23-24 yearly season. I told him about the text I received from Rite Aid telling me that I was now eligible for an additional shot. He said that the text was just a general thing from Corporate and had nothing to do with him. He told me to call corporate if I wanted to find out why I was sent the text. He told me now the vaccines are good for a year and my next one should be next vaccine season. He refused to give me the additional shot. I left the store without the additional vaccine for which I was eligible. I even went back in and showed him the text from Rite Aid again. Still had to leave without my additional vaccine.I did call Corporate, as he instructed, and the customer rep was extremely nice and confirmed that on February 28 of this year, the CDC announced that those over 65 were eligible for an additional Covid shot. Essentially, the text from corporate was correct and I should have been allowed to have the vaccine. I called the pharmacist and told him what Corporate said. He apologized profusely and asked me which brand shot I wanted. I was very nice, but told him that honestly, I had lost confidence in that pharmacy and I would go elsewhere for the injection. It mystifies me as to why the pharmacist didn't know that his pharmacy was offering an additional vaccine for eligible people over 65 at this time.I went to another pharmacy and they confirmed the new CDC guidelines and arranged for my additional vaccine. Again, not a complaint against the pharmacist or the Rite Aid - just a reminder to advocate for yourself as things like this can happen. If something doesn't seem right, look into it. I'm sure my call to the pharmacist saved him from turning other eligible seniors away when they came in with the same text from corporate telling them they were eligible for the additional shot.Added Edit: I want to commend Corporate Rite Aid for their support on the phone and for taking the time to explain the CDC guidelines to me, and for confirming that their text was indeed valid.SB submitted for CLN

Normally never have a problem with this pharmacy. Today when I called whomever answered the phone (pretty sure it was the pharmacist) was very nasty and short with me because I’ve been calling looking for medication they haven’t had in stock for over two weeks. I’ve never met so many people who seem like they hate their jobs.

Cashier had a nasty attitude and rolled her eyes at me. I'm sure she'll be rolling to the unemployment line soon.

Not the best pharmacy. Pharmacy says they are understaffed, I understand. But quite frankly when I’m comes to medication fulfillment, if you can’t fulfill prescriptions in a timely manner and are so swamped you do not check your incoming prescriptions daily then it’s time to shut down.

The phone is never answered, so it's not worth trying to call. The pharmacy clerks stand around chatting instead of checking to see if anyone is waiting at the counter.

I have been going to this Rite Aid Pharmacy because it’s the nearest one to me. For the past year, I have received the worst customer service by one employee, Melissa. She has salt and pepper hair, bangs, shoulder length, hair, and wears glasses. Every time I’ve been there to pick up my prescription she has given me a difficult time by saying my prescription is never there and that I need to call my doctor’s office. I will always ask for her to look again and assure her I have called to make sure the prescription is sent over. Once she brings it up to the pharmacist, they seem to be able to find my prescription. I really don’t understand what Melissa’s problem is, but this is a continuous problem. The last time I was there, a pharmacist took the time to assist me as my insurances changed and I needed clarification. She helped me get to a solution where I was able to get my prescription. After it was resolved, she took me outside of the pharmacy, and let me know she was sorry I went through a bad experience with Melissa. I found that quite telling.Today, I write this bad review because not only was Melissa rude to me, but to a couple of other customers. At one time she yelled, “is there a problem?!” While I was having a convo with another customer in line. She also told him to go to another pharmacy, and then preceded to say he could call the manager. Melissa was also rude to another older lady who needed her prescription as well. The older lady whispered to me that she has had the same problem with her. This time my bf came with me and witnessed this whole incident, and I feel really bad for the elderly customers who were mistreated today by Melissa. No one should be talked to in that manner. It is plain rude, especially for elderly folks who need their prescriptions.

I have been treated poorly by 2 of the 3 pharmacy employees I have dealt with in the 3 times I've been to this location. Tonight was the last time I'll ever go to this pharmacy after witnessing the way my mom was treated. The woman working there should not be allowed to be customer-facing. The one with the grey hair and pointy nose. She was very loud and rude and made a scene when my elderly mom, who is on a fixed income, asked to use GoodRX instead of her insurance as it would save her $80 on her medication. You would have thought we asked her to do something outrageous by her reaction. She was clearly inconvenienced that she would have to "rebill" the order. That's not even correct because GoodRX is a discount program, not insurance, so you don't "bill" anything. I have done it before myself at CVS and it literally took 5 minutes. She raised her voice and intimidated my mom, hemming and hawing about how she had to redo everything. She then loudly asked someone else to come up and void it out, causing such a scene in front of other customers. My mom was not in a hurry to get this new prescription, and was feeling very rattled by how she was being treated, so when the employee said it would take 20 minutes we said we would come back tomorrow, no need to rush - trying to appease her so she'd stop being aggressive. Of course, that wasn't going to satisfy her, so she loudly barked "You can't wait 20 minutes!?" in an accusatory tone and I said no we can't. She was upsetting my mom and making her feel embarrassed, when there was absolutely no reason for it. Just because this tech was having a bad day, or perhaps a bad life, does not mean she can take it out on someone she sees as weak because of their age. We ended up going to another pharmacy and had all my mom's prescriptions transferred and we let them know what a bad experience we had at Rite Aid. By their reaction, it sounds like this isn't the first time they've heard about how Rite Aid treats their customers. My mom doesn't deserve to be bullied by a pharmacy tech who doesn't like her job/life.

I am frustrated that the pharmacy often never answers their phone. I called three times yesterday to ask if my RX was ready and no one answered.Since transportation has to be arranged I don't want to bother anyone if the RX hasn't been filled.Your automated line couldn't verify if the RX was filled either.

The pharmacy here should be shut down, despite continuous requests how do you not refill prescriptions. Why do I need to remind you every time especially when it comes to life saving drugs.
