Racist business!!! Don’t go if you’re black. We were going to be first time customers so we called and made an appointment . We literally felt the frost the moment we walked through the door. We said good morning and neither one of the women working there spoke to us then the woman who came over said oh she’s too busy there was one white woman and her daughter sitting there. I said well we called ahead she kept mumbling then said okay and measured me the whole time being harsh and wouldn’t listen to my requests. The white woman had her daughter there getting dress alterations and I witnessed how different she was being treated so friendly and accommodating. I realized that this employee or owner did not want us there so we said no worries took our green money and left. Horrible experience!!

I needed a dress hemmed in a few days notice. They had it done very quickly and did an amazing job! The price point was fair given the short notice. Will definitely return if needed!

I’ve gotten a bridesmaid dress and two blazers altered here, and this is officially my go-to tailor. The work comes back looking like the garment wasn’t even altered! The staff is very skilled at what they do and has always been incredibly friendly. The prices are also more than fair and can’t be beat.Updated 2023: I can confidently say that my review from 4 years ago still stands! I got another bridesmaid dress altered at Sue Kim’s, and fit me perfectly after. I needed the top half taken in and the hem shortened. The quality of alterations and cost here are exceptional!

Sue Kim Custom Dress Making did an AMAZING job on a 20-year old gown I decided to wear to our daughter's wedding. It still fit for the most part, except that I couldn't take a deep breath with the zipper up--not ideal for a mother-of-the-bride dress! Luckily, Sue Kim Custom Dress Making was able to let out the side seams and now it fits beautifully. The stitching is barely visible on the inside and outside, and they even pressed the dress for me. I always thought I'd get a wedding dress at a shop with an in-house seamstress; however, that was not the case. I was nervous to take my dress to someone I didn't know, but Sue Kim was recommended to me by the bridal shop owner. I was instantly comforted to see a number of thank you cards from brides in Sue Kim's shop! My dress never felt better after she altered it. She also took on the tricky project of modernizing my mom's veil from the 80's, and it turned out more amazing than any veil I could buy. We had one mishap regarding the date I was supposed to pick up my dress. However, Sue acknowledged the mistake and made sure my dress was done in time for my wedding. I personally value accountability and follow through, which is exactly how this situation was handled. I could not recommend Sue Kim enough!Service: Wedding gown alterations

Have take a few items here for alterations over the past year. 3 months ago I took a bridesmaid dress to be altered - they told me they would not be able to finish it until June. When I went to pick it up last week I paid the 90 dollars, took it home, and when I tried it on I realized it was butchered. The breast cups were completely lopsided with one being moved up to my collarbone , the back was taken in but not the waist resulting in inches of folded fabric around my waist, and the neckline was puckered with stitches exposed. When I took it back in to show them that the dress was not fixed and in fact worse, they blamed me - said I told them not to take in the waist and I must have lost weight. Both of which are not true. Since they could only deliver the dress a week before the wedding (even though they have had the dress for 3 months) I had no choice but to give it to them to fix. They did their best to fix it but charged me another 20 dollars to fix there mistakes. I will not be back. Not only do I feel like their work is not quality and I was treated with disrespect, but I feel so taken advantage of and made to pay (literally) for their mistakes.

Sue is amazingly talented. I take all my tailoring needs to her place. She’s quick, professional, and I love her work! I won’t go anywhere else! She is currently working on my daughters heavily beaded prom gown which I know is a huge challenge - but Sue didn’t hesitate! Don’t go anywhere else!

They altered a bridesmaids dress for me last fall. It turned out perfectly. I thought the price was reasonable and the timing was very fast. I’m having another bridesmaids dress altered currently. I would definitely recommend them!

I took my wedding dress here for alterations and ended up crying when I put the finished product on. Mind you, these were not tears of joy. I do not recommend having alterations done here if you have a smaller chest because they have no idea how to work with this body type. I asked for cups to be sewn into my dress and they put them inside the dress where you could see them sticking out and they were holding on with only three stitches. I also needed my dress hemmed, so I took the heels I planned on wearing for my wedding day so they knew exactly how much to do. Somehow, they managed to take off too much and now I have to wear flats on my wedding day. The only reason I am giving one star (instead of zero) is because they did return a portion of what I paid (only for the cups). This was the absolute worst experience of my life.Service: Alterations

Great work & service. Whenever I need anything altered, I take it to Sue Kim. Over the years she has altered both of my kids prom gowns (5), dresses, pants etc.
