This vet was wonderful for 4 yrs. taking care of our pet until this year. I ordered heart pill medication over the summer and received the incorrect one. Ok, mistakes do happen. The office manager was kind enough to drop off the correct medication on her day off. Very nice. However, when I made an appt for our pets yearly checkup we had to wait three months. (I tried to reschedule it as there was a conflict with our work schedules and it would be another 3 months, so my husband rearranged his work schedule so we could keep the original appt.) Our pet needed her shots and we couldn't wait that long. We took our pet to a clinic for her shots and they were wonderful!! I spoke to our vet two times and informed them that our pet was fully vaccinated and didn't need vaccinated. My husband took our pet to her appointment WITH the documents showing she was fully vaccinated and he told them. They STILL vaccinated her! I had to call an emergency vet and poison control to see if she was going to be ok. (It was late at night) She seems to be ok. So when I left two messages at the vet to call me the next morning to discuss this, no one called. I had to call back a third time. When I (first calmly) reviewed the situation I was told it is our responsibility for our pet not theirs even after they were told THREE times she was already vaccinated. I did raise my voice. No excuses. ( After the person I spoke to used a condescending tone and raised her voice) I couldn't believe they were not sorry and blamed my husband that he did not tell them our pet was vaccinated. He told me he did. I was not there so I don't really know what the conversation was like, however, how I was treated by this staff was completely unprofessional. We will not use them again. They seem they do not care about your pet. And they are very expensive!!! I would NOT recommend them at this time.

I used to take my pets here all the time. She was great until we didn’t have the money for taking care of my dog when he suddenly lost feeling in his hips. She gave him back medicine and refused to euthanize, even though he was in constant pain. We had to go behind her back to PVSEC just to put him to sleep so he wasn’t in pain. When we got a kitten, and took him to her for his first appointment, she scruffed him very roughly. He was a baby and did NOT need that type of restraint. If you care for your animals, do NOT go to her! I switched vets and I highly recommend doing the same if you dealt with her.

Dr. Mary and her entire staff are truly the best! We entrusted care for our elderly cat Cody and dog Bella at Pine Village for many years. Unfortunately our cat became ill and passed away in 2020 and we just lost our pup in June. No words can ever describe the love and care they showed our pets as well as support for my husband and I during some difficult times! They brought so much light to us during some dark times. Also many thanks to Jen for being a trustworthy caregiver for our pets! We will be sure to bring any future pet to their office for the same love and care they showed our Cody and Bella girl! ??. They deserve far more than 5 stars! Sending much love to Dr. Mary and her staff!

Thorough and reasonably priced. My dog had a problem with his foot. They took care of that and I got him caught up on 3 or 4 vaccines. Total cost $187. Not bad. Back home in one hour.

been to a handful of different vets around the city, this place is hands down the BEST i’ve ever been to. prompt correspondence, thorough check ups, everyone there is so compassionate and kind with the animals, i’m wildly grateful i found this place and now feel so much better knowing i have them for when they will be needed

I usually go to Animal General but tried here because they could see my guinea pig sooner. They kept flipping her on her back unnecessarily to examine her which stressed her out (Animal General does the same examination while keeping the animal in a normal position to keep them calm and relaxed) vet even asked the tech to keep holding her belly up while she walked away to go wash her hands and get tools. Why keep the animal in a stressful position longer than necessary? They didn't even tell me what the medication was or how to administer it until I specifically asked at the end. They also kept making passive-aggressive comments about her nails being on the longer end and making me feel like a terrible pet owner. I do trim them, but anyone with guinea pigs knows that's not an easy task, especially to do by yourself. Definitely never coming back.

I took my puppy Bug for a well puppy check and to discuss the timeline of when is best to get her spayed. I previously got her puppy shots at Tractor supply mostly to save money, since I remember how expensive it can be. I took a copy of the records I have since her birth to give them and had no problem making an appointment, and I felt welcomed by all of the staff that I personally dealt with (Maria at the front desk, Kody the vet tech, and Dr Mary Schwacha the vet). Everyone handled my dog in a totally appropriate way, making her comfortable and safe. Dr Mary was patient with sure a wiggly puppy, trimming her nails regardless of Bug's resistance. She did a complete physical exam that I expected, based on my previous dog ownership (this is my first puppy) and showed me her new teeth, etc. After exam I wanted to discuss the proper time for spaying and we had an intelligent, sensible discussion that I totally agreed with but also talked about both sides of the information that is currently available. She made me feel much better about what I was thinking, which was the "old school" way of 6 months. We discussed the status of vaccines, which my dog has the first Lyme vaccine which she agreed with and advised me to get the next one "wherever you go" which shows me that she is not "all about money" as I have seen on some reviews. We discussed different flea/tick prevention as well as heartworm, as well as future testing and vaccines. I took notes to keep on track since I knew Bug wouldn't remember. I feel like it was a good first visit, Dr Mary showed me a few simple training techniques and I got a "puppy pack" with a lot of additional information. Everyone was patient and kind, Dr Mary asked if she covered all of my questions which I greatly appreciate. I'll be making the appointment for Bug's spay soon, I feel she will be in good hands there.
