Been coming to this park a couple times a year for ~13 years now, used to love coming to the old camp store and was really excited for the new one to open, which took a few years. I was camping from Sunday to Friday 2 weeks ago, and the store was closed every day. I went to the office and they said they should have been open and gave me the hours they had, but they didn't match what was on the door or what was posted here on Google. The door said they should have been open at least on Friday morning, and unfortunately nobody was there and the cones were still up by the time I went by around noon. I'll be back in a few weeks and hopefully they open while I'm there so I can explore and see what they have to offer!

This place has been closed permanently since October 2021. The owners retired and no one else took over. Good to know before you come camping and expect to buy firewood (you won’t be able to).

You won't believe this place! Stocked floor to ceiling! Pricing is honest throughout the store. Had an opportunity to speak at length with the woman behind the counter. Lovely bright eyed gal. She'll be retiring after this season. Whoever is going to be taking her place next year, I personally would suggest you chat with her. She stocks her own store. You might want to ask questions before she goes. I've never seen a campground store as well stocked before in my life! AND honest pricing? Unbelievable! I've taken an extensive amount of pictures. Zoom in on them. You'll be amazed! And I missed a few corners in the store even.

There is a store on site and carry everything you need and then some, like firewood, camping gear, souvenirs, groceries, ice cream...no alcohol allowed.

Best camp store I've ever been in and love shopping here ! She has everything you could possible need and then some ! And always greeted with a smile and kind word ! And a spritz of hand sanitizer or you're not shopping . Always stop to say hello whenever we are in the area , (even if we're not camping ) and always end up buying something ! Simply the best !!

Everything you need right where you are camping! Next time I want pack so much stuff. They have bacon, blankets, flash lights, sleeping bags, firewood, oil, hats, gloves ..... I could go on and on. The best thing is the little old lady that sprays your hands with a windex bottle full of hand sanitizer. And you can't get away with giving her just one hand. Things are moderately priced but you pay for convenience. We ended up spending a bunch of money here. I'm upset I didn't just wait to get my first two bundles of fire wood. I'd prefer my money go here. Anyway don't worry if you forget something. They've got you covered.

This store has every piece of gear you need to be happy when camping. And the prices are actually very reasonable. I am forced to buy stuff I don't need because I just can't help myself

This was not our best camping experience for a few reasons. The camping loop with full hookups seemed as though the RV spots were pretty narrow, so we were close to other occupants on either side of us. Close enough that it deterred us from setting up the canopy. Understandably, the bathrooms on this loop were primitive as there are hookups for vehicles, but not even one shower area available in that loop. We were tent camping on my aunt and uncle's site and didn't want to constantly use their hot water, etc. Upon arrival we were instructed in 3 things...quiet hours starting at 9pm, diligently locking food and leaving nothing that would attract bears out overnight and no alcohol. Our first night, the campers in adjacent 2 tent sites arrived and continued to arrive well after 9 PM, proceeded to have a pretty big party (at least 15-20 people coming and going by car all night long, playing music well after midnight, drinking/smoking weed, walking past our tent site with lights flashing into our tent to get to out house repeatedly, opening/closing their car doors including beep to lock, all through 4:30 AM!!!). They had more cars/tents/occupants per site then listed on park website and they left all kinds of trash and beer bottles etc out overnight. Listen, if you want to go out in the middle of the woods and take your chances with bears, be my guest, but don't invite them into a crowded camp ground. When I contacted the PARK office early the next morning they seemed less than interested in my complaints and brushed me off "we'll have a park ranger come out and check the scene." We never did see that happen and the campers were still there the next night as well. So if you are looking for a campsite that actually upholds all the rules and regulations they put out on their website, or cares to ensure a family friendly experience, this is not the place. The last bit of disappointment was early the next morning when we were getting ready to check out we drove over to the tent site loop where we understood there was a bathhouse with shower, only to find somebody cleaning both the men's and women's room at 7:30 in the morning while lines of people were waiting to use the facilities. Seems like a bad time to do the cleaning when people are getting up and trying to check out and leave for the day. As we drove through the tent camping sites they were so packed and crammed in we were happy we were not in that mess despite feeling that the RV spots were crowded. Overall, a disappointment with the campgrounds and would not go back or recommend.

We explored to Shades of Death Trail in Hickory Run State Park yesterday afternoon. It was very shady, plenty of hiking done and mini stops when you see some waterfalls along the way. Hiking shoes would be best because on the hike, there are a lot of uprooted trees. It looked like a cool scene, just be careful not to roll your ankle and watch where you are going. Some rocks aren't steady in place, check before you step on a few to follow the trail. We saw people swim by the waterfalls or the random water spots. If you plan to swim, pack a bathing suit (or wear one) and the water looked refreshing. We took a few breaks to touch the water to cool down and wished we could have jumped in if we had a change of clothes. The hike was short, but a good one to just explore. This was probably the first hike I ever saw that much shade (it lived up to its name). I would definitely come back next time and it helped with the humidity.

In attempts to get out of the city and get some well needed fresh air, my family and I headed up to Hickory Runs State Park (about 2 hours from Philly) to hike, check out the waterfall and boulder field. We started at the boulder field, and were able to find a parking spot in the very right parking lot, and spent about 30 minutes there and headed back to the car to drive down to the park entrance closer to Hawk Falls. You can also hike from the boulder field down to Hawk Falls, but all of us were very worried about breaking an ankle trying to cross the giant field of rocks. We headed down to the trailhead closest to Hawk Falls and hiked downward. The decline was well marked and traveled to the waterfall, but we only spend about 20 minutes around the actual falls because it was too crowded amidst the pandemic. We wandered around and found another trail along the river which lead into a more difficult, lesser traveled path and we really enjoyed that adventure. Honestly it was a great afternoon. My family consists of very athletic individuals and novices like myself, and we were all challenged but not overtly exhausted on the trek back up to the parking lot. Would highly recommend, but maybe not on a crowded weekend.
