This has been the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in the years I’ve worn contacts. The optometrist and the technician who did my exam were absolutely wonderful, however the manager of the office (I believe) is downright combative. The anxiety this experience has caused is just a joke. In addition to other issues, she would answer my calls and leave me on an extended hold (10 minutes plus) purposely, only to have someone else answer and take care of my contact lens/ insurance questions. I’ve ordered my contacts elsewhere, I will no longer give any of your locations mine or my family’s business. I hope I can help someone else avoid the experience I had by leaving this review.

I have never written a review before, but this place is the worst. I ordered glasses, paid for them and was told they would be in in 7-10 days. Two weeks later I called and was told they would be in that day. No one called to tell me they were in so I stopped in. At that time I was told they lost them and the manager would call me the next day. The manager called me the same day after I told the front seat to cancel my order and requested a copy of my prescription. She told me it would be another two weeks to get my glasses. That would be an entire month to get a pair of glasses! I, once again, told her to cancel the order and refund me the $400+ I already paid. She reluctantly agreed to do so. This is not the first time I have had an issue with this office. Twice, they have given my daughter the wrong contact lens prescription. There are plenty of other eye doctors, stay clear of this one they are awful.

This is the worst my eye doctor location ever. I’m not the type of person who usually goes out of their way to write reviews on companies but it was such a horrible experience. Last year I had my eye doctor appointment and they kept refusing to release my prescription to me in person. Also When it came to scheduling an appointment to the ladies at the desk were awful, particularly one in general. I don’t remember her name. they could not print out my prescription when they had it right there on the desk next to them since they just ordered me a pair of Ray-Ban’s at the time. I was at the location 3 times and asked for my prescription, once after my appointment, once when I picked up my contacts, and once when I picked up my glasses. Out of all the eye doctors I’ve been too I’ve never had them not print out my prescription at the end of the appointment. I also ended up having to pay for some of the appointment because my insurance was not covered when they said it was. They didn’t inform me that I wasn’t covered until afterwards as well. I kept calling back asking for the prescription since it was not showing up on the app. They kept refusing to give it to me. Finally now I called back a year later because I’d really like to have that on my personal files and they said they could not release it to me since it expired. The lady was so rude and had a terrible attitude. I was saying it was not right since that is my personal information even though the prescription has expired, you should still have access to it, even if it is not fillable. The lady was saying she could release my medical records to me but can’t until the doctor is back and that may not have the prescription on it. I decided to call another location since it is a chain and the lady on the phone agreed with me and said they have no right to withhold information like that and she immediately gave me my prescription. If you’re going to go to the eye doctor forget about this location they are terrible. They don’t care about their customers.

I have no idea where these bad reviews are coming from. I have never been to an Eye Doctor before, I have always had perfect vision. Like many hitting 50, my eyesight is going bad to read, and you hear on commercials of all the eye diseases, again making me hesitant. I assumed I would go in they will have me read an eye chart, tell me I need glasses and send me on my way without know if I am ok. Isn't that what everyone wants for a checkup, to make sure EVERYTHING (no disease) is ok. Well what happen was the OPPOSITE of just read some letters and make me pay. My Doctor was Jessilyn Burns. She was AMAZING she told me every second what she was doing and why (a little fast, might want to slow down a little). That is a HUGE comfort, not sure she knows how good that is. Makes you feel everything is going to be checked, and nice for me to know all was well, except my reading as I did need some reading glasses. When I went to pick out my frames, the girl that helped me was SSSOOOOO Patient as I tried on 10 pairs before deciding. I have now idea if these bad reviews are from WhiteOak, but I doubt it, because they made me extremely happy.

A MyEyeDr recently opened in my neighborhood so I decided to give them a try. Big financial mistake! Every other eye doctor I've ever been to always pre-approved my visit and glasses with my insurance prior to my visit and knew exactly what I was entitled to for new glasses. Assumption...they had done the same. I paid my $106.00 copay, left, then got my new glasses. 1 month later, I got a bill from them for $334.00 to pay off the balance on a pair of simple reading glasses. Understand I could have purchased 3 pair of similar glasses from Sam's or Costco for about $25.00. When I called about it, I was told they don't preauthorize like everyone else does so please pay your bill. It just makes me wonder how many times they do this to other people and collect vast amounts of money by just not bothering to check first. End of the day, I'm paying this scam bill at $20 a month, no hurry on my part and will NEVER go back there again. If you decide to try them, make sure you specifically ask if they have a pre-auth or you can expect a stupidly high bill after your appointment. From now on, I'll drive the 20 minutes to my original eye doctor...it's worth it to save $334.

Had much better experiences when it was Olsen eye care, first time coming since the change & was lied to about what my insurance covered. Usual cost of $250 for contacts and prescription raybans went to $700+, paid $200+ for the contacts and went to LensCrafters for the same exact glasses it was $38 with my insurance go figure. Then I go to pick up my girlfriends order and they were closed 15 minutes early. No longer taking our business here ever again

This place has gone down hill since it changed from Dr. Olsen’s practice. Dr. Burns is wonderful but unfortunately the staff is so terrible I will not be returning. The lady ordering my daughters glasses not only lied about what my copays were but also added a protection plan and did not ask me if I wanted it. I left the office and read my receipt in the car and noticed it. I turned right back around to inquire about the charges and copayments that I specifically asked about but it was closing time and the doors were already locked with no one in sight. I called the following morning and was told a manager would return my call. No return call that day. So I called the following morning. Told the manager the situation, was offered no apology or anything. I was given my refund. When I went to purchase glasses somewhere else for my daughter I was told she already had an active claim at My Eye Dr. I called again and the manager said the claim was already reversed and to call the insurance! I then called my insurance who said there is still a claim, my wonderful insurance company did a three way call with the manager here at the white oak branch. She pulled up my claim and said oh I don’t know how to reverse it! Wow. My insurance then transferred her to someone who can help her. Why lie to your customers?! I’m still waiting to purchase my daughters glasses because they were to lazy to call and reverse my claim. Avoid this place at all cost!

I had a full eye exam with the new doctor, and she was so friendly. However, when I went to pick up my glasses they just handed them to me and asked me if I wanted to take my husbands glasses home. I have never just picked up glasses without sitting with someone to make sure they fit correctly. I worked for an ophthalmologist for years and we always had patients try their glasses on at the office before leaving. When I opened my new glasses they looked they were 10 years old. I am still wearing glasses from 2012 that are in mint condition. My new Ray Bans were damaged in multiple places on the frame. I'm so disappointed. I also got contacts. I had to show that I could take them in and out, but no other information. All patients should be advised about not sleeping in them and proper care. Thankfully I knew all of that already from my previous career, but as someone wearing contacts for the first time...that should have been said.

Great visit! Dr. Burns and her staff are very friendly and professional. The office was clean and Covid precautions taken. Everything was sanitized. We were even given new masks to wear since our faces were touching the equipment. My son and I both were in for exams ( both over due at that). Neither of us needed glasses, but I ended up getting a pair for my son with the blue light blocking coating since he is on the computer all day for school.

They have been horrible ever since they became part of the new company. I would schedule an appointment, take time off work, and they would call at 7 am to cancel it. When you call back to reschedule not 5 minutes later....they aren’t open. After this happened twice, I switched to a new office/new doctor and informed them of this. They continued to call about scheduling an appointment for months.Today, over a year later, I received another voice mail that was entirely unprofessional. The person calling referred to me as Honey and expressed concern for my child because we haven’t made an appointment and demanded that I “call now to make an appointment”.I have a name and it isn’t Honey and I do not appreciate the veiled suggestion that I am neglecting my child because I choose to use another provider.Be warned, if you leave this practice they will never leave you alone!
