My 1st time at E'Tae was 12/10/17; I have NEVER had any issues with washers or stylist. I travel from Newark, DE...I go to the salon once every few months, i'm all Natural; my curl pattern remained the same....I get exactly what I pay for : - )

My daughter goes here roughly once a month to have the Carmel treatment. The service is great, the prices are reasonable and we’ve never had any issue with getting appointments. The salon is gorgeous and you can also purchase hair care products in the adjoining store to maintain your style. 5 stars!

Had a good experience been using ETAE but first time at salon. It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Returning soon I just read the reviews and I think the receptionist was kind. She squeezed me in that day which was a blessing. The wash staff do converse a lot but no complaints with my hair One tip is to schedule an appointment to avoid wait. With this I find that I walk right into a seat.

Never been at the salon BUT it seems like anytime someone gets a bad review they have a sorry excuse for why customers/clients have bad experiences, and comment under the reviews “not to give negative reviews because it has a negative impact”, well duh ?....Sounds very unprofessional. I hope your hair stylists are licensed cosmetologist because in the reviews it seems like they don’t know what they’re doing.....not living up to their Instagram. Also if your salon is low staffed why schedule more appointments than y’all can handle? the clients are waiting hours past their appointment time??? ( VERY unorganized) it’s not rocket science their should not be any excuses on why things aren’t running efficiently, the owner needs some serious coaching. Customers get all excited to get their hair done then leave unsatisfied with a negative experience.

Love the final results when I get my hair done here, but customer service is always horrible. I just called to book an appointment and the receptionist hung up on me because either she has a hearing or attitude problem. I should’ve been done with this salon after my last experience when I booked a 9:00 appt and not a single hair stylist was there when I arrived, had to wait a half an hour for someone to start shampooing my hair. If you don’t know how to talk to paying customers then you don’t need to be answering phones for someone else’s business. Please retire or be fired.

It's unfortunate that the owner actually did not take S. Harris feedback seriously. I had a very similar experience when the store first opened. I never went back nor have had anything kind to say about this place. Being nice \"selectively\" (and for whatever reason) when you are offering a service should not be practiced. I went away shaking my head knowing I would never return. Shame on the owner. Her response is very telling. She along with her staff could definitely benefit from customer service training.

I don’t know what type of magic or voodoo these ladies do on hair, but let me tell y’all something...this place is magically the truth!!! I have never seen my curl pattern the way they showed me and I have never seen my hair look so healthy before. I had my hair washed, blow dried, and straightened before but NEVER on this caliber. I was told since my hair was natural and never been straightened before that it wouldn’t last long, so I knew that prior to having my hair touched by the staff. They were right, it lasted maybe 5 days in 101 degrees heat. I was fine with that. I washed my hair and looked in the mirror and seen that my curl pattern still looked defined! It made me want to cry, because I always hated my hair and they showed me a side to my hair I’ve never known. I love my curl pattern and I love how soft and manageable it is. I will always go back but because I am natural I will only go back once a year since I only straighten my hair once a year to avoid heat damage. I will break down the pros and cons (not major). PROS: Friendly staff Light refreshments Work magic on your hair and scalp Affordable All natural products Clean environment Professional Sell maintenance products Very welcoming CONS: The wait (for some this might be an issue but for me this was minor since I had no where to be) Overall: Great experience! I love my hair and I’m glad this place showed me how my true hair can look with some good old TLC. Thanks Etae!

I purchased the kit for $55 back in 2017 around the Thanksgiving holidays. I followed the directions to a T, with awful results. I called the salon to ask if someone could explain the process and the lady was very nice and professional. I tried the products again, with worst results. These products dried my hair where it became like straw. I have been doing/maintaing my own hair for years, with fantastic results. I left word for the owner to call me and after 2 weeks she did. Let's just say that she is very RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, BELITTLING, and did I say NASTY? Wow, after she told me that she would give me a “freeâ€, style using the products I felt like ok. But when I asked if the products I purchased were comparable to the free style, SHE HUNG UP! I told her before she hung up, that she would wind up losing in the long run because God doesn't like ugly. A straight up rude woman with a chip on her shoulder. LITERALLY. DO NOT PATRONIZE her business.

I absolutely love this salon. The atmosphere is beautiful and very professional. You are greeted when you walk in and they explain the whole process of what they are doing to your hair. The beautiful ladies that wash, condition, Carmel treatment, blow dry, etc....are also very knowledgeable and professional. They also offer beverages and snacks as well. My stylist Amirah I had her the two times I had an appointment and I felt like I was talking to my sister.....absolutely love her. After getting up from her chair I felt like I could do a hair commercial. It's a beautiful thing to see beautiful Queens operating a business and offering exceptional service. I wish the owner Kish and the whole staff much success and prosperity.

I was so excited to have my hair done at the salon. It's a beautiful hair salon. I haven't had my natural hair pressed out in over a year and I'm sure all of my hair is damaged. It smells like burnt rubber. I'm very hurt and disappointed. I explained to my stylist that my hair didn't need to be bone straight because I was going to wet it and put it back into my curly Afro. But my hair is straight and will not revert back to its original state. If you're into natural hair care I would not recommend you going into the salon to have your hair done.

I love this salon. My hair is in its best shape. The staff pampers you from start to finish. To me it doesn't give you a "hair salon gossip" type vibe def more spa like. I moved from Philly to the DC area about a year ago and I still make it a point to travel home to get my hair done!

The atmosphere is very nice, and ~generally~ the people are too. However, too many appointments are booked in one day and you are either sitting around for over 30 mins waiting to get your hair done (not under the dryer mind you) or the stylist rush through your hair and the outcome is terrible. While the products are nice, they can only take you but so far. You still need talented stylists who can apply the product correctly and actually do hair professionally. Solely relying on the product to do the work and having poor quality stylist is not okay. I did not have a terrible experience here, but I feel no need to return to have my hair done because it was not salon quality or NEARLY worth the price I was charged.
