Books-A-Million has always been one of my favorite places to go since I was a kid. I am especially impressed by the large manga selection they have. It's been filling my nerdy heart with lots of joy as of late!

This store seems to decline more as time goes by. The variety of genres they have in stock is shrinking while they stock the store with toys. The cashiers always push the membership card and magazines too much. A single "no thank you" should be adequate and I shouldn't be asked 4 additional times to sign up.

The bookstore is nice but the staff at Joe's Muggs is terrible. I ordered a wet macchiato and the person was baffled. I explained in detail what I meant and the person rudely tried to tell me a macchiato and latte were the same thing except one had milk in top and the other shots on top. Huh? Anyway, the person was too flustered at this point to even make the drink I requested, continuing to gaslight me rather than just making the drink I requested. Oh well. I guess I will stick to the books.

If I could give this store a negative rating I would. This past visit reminded me as to why I shop at Barnes and Noble and not BAM. I was searching for a certain type of book for my son for Christmas and the rude man that "helped" me, could not have been any nastier in his demeanor if he tried! He generically walked me to the section and said they'd be somewhere in there and acted as if I was bothering him asking him to do his job and assist me. He then mimicked my response to him!!! DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE, NASTY!!! I will never go back to that store. I found someone else there to help me, she wasn't much better. She rang my books up incorrectly and then when I asked for my original receipt back she got extremely rude and said you didn't give it to me. I said yes I did when you asked to fix your mess up ringing me up. She then found it on the floor and instead of apologizing, held it over her head and I grabbed it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT shop here ever!!!

Nice book store. Friendly staff and atmosphere. The clerk explained everything we needed to know and more about joining the Billionaire Club. Thanks for the pleasant visit.

Two stars because 99% of all books that I want, no matter the genre or author are "out of stock, not in store."I also don't like the extreme high pressure to pay to join that rewards thing. They just won't let it alone. One girl working the cafe section is a bit snooty and acts bothered by helping som not familiar with Frappes and what not. Not enough food and the little bit is highly over priced.Overall I tolerate BAM, it's no Borders.

I came in to inquire about their book buyback. An older gentleman behind the counter took one look at my book and said, "Oh, we won't buy that". I said "ok, umm why?" To which he replied, "Would you try to sell that?" I turned around and walked out. I wasn't expecting much and, I was just trying to hear how the buyback worked. This was extremely off-putting, and I won't be back.

My son loves shopping for books.. He asked for gift cards to BAM for his 10th bday ♡Our 1st visit was a polite young man for checkout who was not pushy at all..Our recent visit was An older lady with short gray and was very pushy at checkout about the membership program, told me I should 'be ashamed' for not joining the rewards program...which you PAY to join!My son was so upset by her rude obnoxious behavior, he doesn't want to visit again.Very disappointed in her service !!

So. I've been going here for years, ever since I was young. You can assume I'm not that old.I have always loved the book selection, the little trinkety things they sell, etc. Store has always been clean and inviting.Until I went there this past April (2023).It was smooth sailing until I got to the register. There had been an issue with the machine reading my card, so I, as prompted by said machine, removed it.This clearly miserable old woman, who I have come to know by scavenging the reviews here, is Ann. She was at the register as I checked out, seemingly just waiting for an excuse to lash out at someone at the ripe hour of 10 in the morning. And that person just happened to be me.Oh, Ann. We don't love her, do we?Right. WE DON'T."JuSt PuT tHe CaRd iN aNd LeAvE iT tHeRe".Well, Ann, sorry for ever deciding to come to Books-A-Million. Sorry for being such an inconvenience. God forbid I do something I was prompted to do by the card reader... Jesus. SoRrY.As someone who works a retail job myself and deals with payment at the register, I've had my fair share of things declining, freezing, etc. Never once have I had the AUDACITY to speak to a customer so rudely and with a very evident tone implying that I'd rather be dead than deal with one minor inconvenience at my workplace. It's just courtesy... treat the customer with respect and you will receive it back. I actually would know this quite well, as, I mentioned previously, I work a retail job. Just like our lovely disliked specimen, Ann.It is now July, and I see a recent reviewer has also had to deal with Ann and see her treat not only the customers, but also coworkers with the attitude equal to that of a child that hasn't gotten their way.I wrote a complaint to corporate, and the store manager called me regarding the issue and said something along the lines of "We will be speaking to the employee about this issue".Clearly that pep talk, if it took place, went in one ear and out the other.I used to love coming here, but I simply will not until Ann is gone.Send her off to a job where she doesn't have to deal with people. At least not dealing with people who are alive, anyway. Her customer service skills are lacking and she seems to have the intellect of a carnival goldfish when it comes to customer relations.I will not return unless I hear that she is gone from this job and has moved onto something more suiting or she somehow dies of natural causes... probably a stroke if she keeps spiking her blood pressure by getting so wound up over such miniscule things at a retail job.Disappointed. I'd give it at least five years before I'm back.

Couldn't catch her name but the older women with dark hair was very rude to her coworkers and the customers. She snapped at her coworker when he asked a simple question concerning the saftey of us customers. When we were leaving we decided to not get a book and she ripped it out of my hands and ushered us out the door. Turned our nice evening into an unhappy one.
