Customer service was nice but car availability is not accurate online. I rented a non electric compact car online and was given an electric car instead when I arrived there. Couldn’t cancel reservation because I had already paid for an uber to drop me off at the location and was running late for work, not to mention it was also snowing outside. The car drove really nicely in the snow but it was a struggle for me trying to charge the car in the middle of a snow storm, I had no clue of what I was doing nor had to do and I had to ask random strangers nearby for help. Downloading the app and creating an account was also a struggle. These things should be mention ahead of time when renting an electric car.

Rented a car from Michigan to York overnight. Had dog hair on a blanket. They wanted to charge me for “excessive dog hair just all over the car and especially cargo area” and a $300 fee that I had to ask several times what the fee would be. They claimed my dog was in the car & it would be at least half an hour to scrub the hair out. Took it to gas station to clean the car myself & it took only a few minutes. Upon returning was told it’s that expensive because they have to send it somewhere to get detailed even though they clean the cars themselves in the back. So which is it? Not great customer service, seems like they wanted an excuse to get some $ and not clean the car.

They were very rude, arrogant. We had reserved a car 3 weeks in advance. I didn't want to use them but they were offering some deal. So we show up early and they acted dumbfounded. No car!! We are so sorry. Well that didn't help now does it. My advice is don't waste your time.

Well let's start with the fact that this rental car company has been sending me a bill for an unknown car rental that I've supposedly made for a year now I talked with him several times and told them this bill is not in mind I don't know who rented a car but I didn't and but they keep sending me a bill and they're not trying to work it out there not trying to look into it they're just assuming that I made the bill but it's a fraudulent bill because I have rented from Hertz before but I've always paid my bill. But it's weird because I would have never left owing them a dime,, but they're continuing to harass me about a bill that I know nothing about and it's very challenging because I have loads of stuff going on in my own life I don't have time to deal with fraudulent bills so you called from there but they seem to be a half-decent rental car company but this building is so annoying because I know nothing about a bill that I owe them

I am a supervisor for customer service and the way I was treated at this location from the hour wait until I got to the counter they knew that they were closing but instead of just telling me come back tomorrow they acted like my Bank card a federal bank card did not work knowing the both had already turned off their computers I contacted my bank and my bank stated that they never even ran the card because they would of seen the rejection on the screen on top of that this is a reservation from my insurance company this is the worst experience I’ve had with hertz and I’ve always rented with hertz the worst location ever

Customer Service (CS) has improved(June 2023).?? Initially, I was very hesitant to rent from this location again. But, CS has improved. During my recent reservation, I observed the much better service that I’m accustomed to receiving from Hertz locations. First, the business hours are more accommodating (now open until 5pm); the manager, Cameron, is more personable, communicates more effectively and with a smile, and is more flexible in accommodating customers. This is my reason for a higher rating. I also observed, this location has more staff, which appears to be a much needed addition for this seemingly busy location. I would recommend more attention be made to ensuring the vehicle floors/seats are vacuumed and interior dash/gear area is cleaned. Good Customer Service is one of the core keys to retaining long term customers. Please keep up the good customer service! Satisfied Customer.??

I’ve had bad experiences with other car rental companies. I specifically needed a 7 seat SUV for my bachelor party and when I called this Hertz location to confirm, they assured me they were working on getting what I needed on the short notice I gave them. When I arrived to pick it up, both associates were friendly and the one that helped me took the time to ask about my bachelor party and relate to my interests. They went above and beyond to get me a bigger car than they told me they’d have for me and the car worked great for what I needed it for. Above and beyond friendly service. This is why I know I can depend on Hertz!

As a frequent visitor to the York Hertz location all I can say is WOW!!! They make me feel like family while aways being attentive to my needs. Cars are always clean, pickups on time, and I'm in and out. In my opinion the whole crew deserves some mad props. Cameron, Paul, Krystal, Wayne, and Dave, thanks so much for your continual outstanding service.

Picked up a vehicle with damage underneath - returned the vehicle the next day. I spoke with the black gentleman and made him aware of the damages that were on the vehicle and showed him the pictures. Today, I received a phone call from the white heavy set male stating that he needs me to fill out an accident report because of the damages I caused to the vehicle??we argued for a few minutes on the phone ( very unprofessional ).He stated, "I know the vehicle was in good condition because I took pictures of everything," which he did- but he never took a picture underneath the vehicle where the damage was at. I'm still waiting for a call from his manager. ????Make sure you do your own video/picture when renting from these people.

Do not use this location!!! They stole over $500 from us that we have been unable to get back. If you contact them, they claim they are refunding and they never do. The staff we ran into there was incompetent minus one girl who was extremely helpful and wish I had her name. She tried to fix the issue, even though it was not her fault. They had no information we had returned our rental, nothing!! My husband went in and spoke to someone and gave them the keys when he returned it. Charged us for having it out for over a week longer than we did. How does your staff not know someone returned the car? I am sure they rented it out to someone else. Please make sure you get confirmation of drop off (my husbands mistake). And get as much paperwork as you can from hem. Ours was an insurance rental or we would have never used them. Please do not use them if you can help it, I would hate for anyone else to lose out on money like we did, or just be more careful!

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I called to ask a question about vehicle supply (having heard about shortages) and got a helpful answer. They have a dropbox for after-hours returns. When I picked up my vehicle, I was running late and called and they adjusted it without any problems. Similarly, when I needed to extend the rental for an extra day, it was easy. The young woman at the front desk was especially friendly.
