If you get a mortgage or other loan through this bank, just know that there is no way to set up auto payments unless you have a banking account with them. Also, be warned that there is no alert system provided other than snail mail. So changes in your payment amounts are a delayed surprise.

We had applied for a commercial loan, because People's came highly recommended by other business owners and investors in the area, and we were made to use Jaime Strange, Loan Processor. She then did not respond for weeks while we were supposed to be in underwriting. I then relentlessness contacted her for 48hrs requiring an update immediately. She then finally reached out and said they could not do the loan. She also accused us of lying, because she does not have the business or financial knowledge needed for this position. She did not have her underwriting numbers correct at all either. I had to underwrite our property for her. During all this, she was also very impolite on the phone and via email, because she was frazzled with herself due to being incompetent about business and commercial real estate matters. As I said, others in the area have recommended People's highly, but with this loan processor we had a horrible experience. I do not feel she should be working in commercial banking or banking at all for that matter.

Dec 23 the CC system goes down for hours, and they DECLINE ALL transactions. Now Dec 24, plenty of $$$ in account still, declined again. Since it's the weekend, the client care center is closed. I'm stranded on a Christmas eve. We're DONE!

This bank is a horrible Bank my grandfather lived in PA and he had terminal cancer so he moved to VA with me there's no branches around well he used to just go into the bank and take all of his money out at once and since he moved here he can't do that so we did everything electronically then closed his account on a weekend he is terminal cancer mind you he came home on a Friday he couldn't really speak with the bank lady who called at the time because you know he had pneumonia and things like that he was choking she made it seem like it wasn't a big deal it was just about an online savings account he tried to open will apparently because I was sending funds from his card to another electronic card they put it down as fraud we called every possible branch and no one would speak to him on the weekend said he had to wait till Monday we couldn't pay for his oxygen or his pain meds and unfortunately he has to go back into the hospital this is a horrible bank they completely are just completely messed up I would know recommend this bank to anyone at any point in time do not go to thishi

This place is some of the worst customer service possible. We have been banking with them for about 15 years and get treated like an inconvenience whenever we call with questions.

This bank takes Federal tax refunds and Stimulus checks puts into a " limbo account " aka people's account and draws interest . No trust in this bank. Never again will I trust this bank again.

The bank closed my accounts without my knowledge for sending them an email that had foul language about charging overdrafts fees during a pandemic. Also, charged me 3 overdrafts fees in one day, i.e. why I wrote the email. What do you know..

Absolutely the worst bank to do business with! They put rediculous holds on checks that are small! They refuse to work with you on anything absolutely horrible!! I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone and honestly It doesn't deserve one star I will be draining my accounts immediately ( after the ten day hold) for a small check!!

The worst of the worst. This company only thinks of itself. After multiple times trying to clear up fees for a problem caused by their bad banking practices, I ended up talking to paypal and they instantly, without out question or proof, refunded my money and fees caused by this bank. When you have a problem with peoples bank dont expect to speak to someone who is polite and respectful or even has the patience to figure out your problem. I have atleast 5 different accounts with other banks and have never experience such a money grab. They only care about their bottom line. So if youre thinking about signing up with peoples bank look somewhere else. There are so many other banks out there with no fees, great customer service and actually care to have you as a customer. Why would you settle for worst?

Customer service with the Cape Horn bank is terrible. Blatantly lied to. Have message from Amanda to prove I was lied to. Gave me a gift card for 25 dollars. When they owed me 200. Very disappointed.

originally posted a 1 star because they always struggle with thier IT every time it changes logins change and its handled poorly. after losing over 100$ in business I was on edge to leave. they have a lot of nice features I wont get my 100$ i lost but at least they did something with it. Make no mistake it happens again and i'm out. Had to edit back to one star their new system is horrible its not real time frequently only updates a week behind, try to log in with copy paste user and password to get locked out then to find out when i call the number that they are updating today from 1-4pm well thanks for the text or email its just...no im done its not worth the 1/2% interest on a property loan that I save using direct deposit im choosing to leave at a cost of a few hundred dollars a year does that not say enough?

Dealing with Peoples both on the banking and commercial loan side has been a pleasure. They go out of their way to make sure your satisfied and constantly communicate to resolve an issue if there is a problem. I highly recommend this institution for all your banking needs. They are a grade above the rest!
