“Dr Sloat, his vet nurses/techs, and office staff are great. They really do care about their dog patients and the dog's human family.
Their prices are very reasonable as well.
If you need an appointment, they can almost always see you within a few days or a week or so if you're flexible. And there have even been times where I've had a semi-emergency with my dog or a needed a short notice follow-up appointment, and they've seen me the same day or the next day.
They also do an excellent job of refilling medications. Anytime you call them, and get their voicemail, they will call you back promptly.
They've never dropped the ball. They have been 100% compassionate and reliable for the past 20 years of me and my family have been taking our dogs here.”
“Just moved to York and wasn’t excited about finding a new vet. I found Leader Heights Animal Hospital through Google reviews and booked our first appointment online about two weeks out, easy process and no pressure.
Then in the gap before the visit, my dog Archie (wire fox terrier) ripped a dew claw and wouldn’t leave it alone. I called to ask what to do and they gave me phone advice at no charge, from a doctor. That alone earned a lot of trust.
At the appointment, Dr. Angie Cheek took her time, asked about the dew claw right away, and walked me through two reasonable next steps without pushing one over the other. She also handled his bordetella and the rest of the exam really thoroughly. We left with a clear plan and Archie was noticeably more comfortable.
We’ve been to multiple primary vets and specialists over the years, and this was the first time I got the bill and didn’t feel nickeled and dimed. If you’re new to the area or just looking for a vet you can trust in York, I’d recommend Dr. Cheek and this practice.”
“The vets and staff are wonderful! And the clinic hours are amazing even if it's a long wait! I would rather wait in my car to get an ill pet seen that day than to be turned down at another vet office because they have no available appointments til the following day. The prices are very reasonable too. Fully recommend!”
“We had our weimaraner boarded Saturday night the 26 October and were very pleased with the hospital. Haas was bathed and nails done very reasonably and he was content when he came home. He will be visiting them 1 Nov. also when we take our son back to Dulles to return to Japan.”

“It was an informative visit, unfortunately they quoted too high for a full mouth extraction for over 5k with the aftercare. Found a local vet who can do it for a quarter of the price. Appreciate the diagnosis of Stomatitis .Vet was very knowledgeable. One lady at the front desk was very friendly and the other seemed a bit annoyed at my questions about results and medication. Thank you at the end of the day because I know what to do next to help my kitty!”
