We came to visit from an hour away. When we got there at 2:45pm, 15 minutes before the 3pm tour we were informed that they weren’t offering that tour. Even though their huge sign at the entrance had advertised a 3pm tour. I also went to buy rovings and heavy worsted weight yarn. They had nothing of the sort. Since I drove so long to visit I asked if she could accommodate my request in anyway, and was shut down completely. The whole 15 minute visit felt completely uninteresting in serving us. To drive all that way and plan our day around this visit was a complete waste of time and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend the unfriendly service we experienced here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Green Gables Alpaca in Prince Edward Island is truly one of the island's hidden gems! The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. The variety of alpaca products is delightful, showcasing a range of cute and high-quality items. The alpacas themselves are absolutely adorable and well-cared-for. The tour is thoughtfully designed, offering a great balance of education and fun. Highly recommend visiting for a unique and charming experience!

I had recommended this spot to tourist friends. We arrived to find we could only visit the Alpacas by going on the tour, which was another hour and a half from when we arrived. We could stand at the fence and have and a look but were told we were not allowed to take pictures. ? Sales at the shop were quite pushed, which I do understand, the business needs to make money. But even that, the products were not Island made. Very disappointed
IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: My group was four adults. The person who told us "No pictures" was very clear, as we were all surprised by it and discussed it among ourselves. Though, yes, one member took a couple (literally 2) anyway. I asked if any items were Island made and was told they were made in Quebec. No Island products was another item my little group discussed privately. I completely understand and wholly appreciate the need to look after the well-being of the animals, which is why I recommended your farm. I will admit to going no further than seeing your name in a list of things to do on PEI so was not aware of tours only. Unfortunately, your times did not meet our day's schedule. As for coming back, I was there years ago when the field was open. It's too bad my guests from out of province missed out this summer.

On our way to Cavendish area, we noted there was the Green Gable Alpacas farm on a pamphlet. We were so happy we stopped by during a weekday mid afternoon as we got a private family tour of the farm. The farm is in a lovely setting and is well-maintained. We got to see the Alpacas in their enclosure (not allowed to touch as they do not like that, which is very respectful of them), got to feed them some apples, saw the stables, saw the old milk reserve where wool is kept (we got to touch it and see how its cleaned) and also how yarns are made. Our guide was wonderful and knowledgeable , the owner was friendly/interesting/intriguing in a good way. Store is kids friendly, owner has great approach with kids. We absolutely loved our tour, and alpacas wool. We recommend you stop by! It is recommended to reserve.

Wonderfully amazing experience. I was able to meet the alpacas and then learn how their wool is transitioned into yarn. I then learned how to dye yarn. The owner Janet is so knowledgeable and an excellent teacher and maker. I highly recommend that you visit and see the other side of this amazing fiber product.

Our visit to this piece of heaven was impromptu, and one of the highlights of our trip to PEI, which exceeded all expectations.
We were extremely lucky that Janet welcomed and invited us to join a tour - which you have to pre-book - upon our arrival. She took the time to recommend some additional things that we should do for the remainder of our time on the island. Thank you for recommending potato fudge and ensuring that we check out ADL dairy bars!
During the tour we were encouraged to ask questions, which were readily answered and showed what it is like to be an alpaca farmer on PEI.
The store there hosts amazing skeins of the softest hand dyed alpaca yarn that any knitter or crocheter would be amazed to experience. All of it is produced domestically, which makes the experience and wares that much more special.
We highly recommend adding this experience to your PEI trip, especially if you love alpacas, yarn, and all things soft and fluffy.

This was such a fabulous experience. I found it really informative and interesting. They answered all my questions. Just getting to spend 90 minutes observing the alpacas in their natural space was a treat. I loved how respectful they were of the animals and giving them space and treating them well. At the end I got to feed Griswold, their lama, who was so sweet. They have a sweet little shop there with high quality products. I left with some alpaca wool socks, dryer balls and mini alpaca. Incredible unique experience on PEI that doesn't feel touristy at all. A real hidden gem!I also loved meeting the owner, Janet, hearing her story about the farm was incredible. She did a spinning demo which I didn't expect but really enjoyed.

**Not a petting Zoo**Informational session on Alpaca and llamas. Information given about their behaviours, personalities and wool. it was lovely to see that the staff truly cared about the animals well being and habitat.I would NOT recommend for kids that are interested in touching animals or that like to move around freely.

Janet is so welcoming and knowledgeable! She explains everything in a way that's easy to understand and she takes a lot of time with each guest to make sure they have the answers they need. The yarn dyeing workshop was an amazing experience and I'd highly recommend it to any yarn enthusiast!

I wanted to learn more about the locals and farmers on the island and came across Green Gables Alpacas. Janet was dealing with a sick animal the day we visited and she soldiered on. Right from the moment I entered to the time I left her passion for all the animals on the farm shone through every word she said. Extremely knowledgeable in all things alpacas!I had a farm tour where we learned all about the alpacas, and got to ask unlimited questions about the land, the animals and more. We were shown the results of sheering, a spin demonstration and of course met and hang out with Grizwold the llama! She has a cute little shop with yarns, hats, mitts, and more. Her story on starting the farm is one that should be acknowledged, praised and told. Absolutely recommend this sweet spot to really connect with the hard working people of PEI.

This was the start and a major highlight to my wife (Maria) and I's vacation trip to PEI. We had our pictures taken with the resident guard llama Griswold and got to feed him some apples. At the end of the tour, Janet showed us how she spins the fibre and answered all of our questions. She even told us about the different qualities of fibre, how they differ. Definitely recommend anyone coming to PEI for vacation, like we did, or in general to book an appointment for this very informative and fun experience!

Went for Open Farm Day.
The Alpacas are cute. Otherwise I didn't find it too interesting. Don't believe there's a washroom and the gift shop is on the more expensive side. There's no signs to tell you to not touch the Alpacas but the staff don't want you touching them.

Enjoyed learning about alpacas and bought some wool. Had a demo on spinning wool. Our tour guide was a very nice young man who was very informative and answered all questions we had
