Today I went to another jewelry store on the South Shore (Longueuil and I'm leaving from Lasalle) to buy a watch. The owner confirmed that he had it in stock and would give me a good price. I arrived on site, not the watch requested and his response was I have 180 watches on my website I cannot have them all and know them.
I did a Tissot search and the closest jewelry store was Bijouterie Guy Serres.
Parking at the door unlike the big ones in the city center: B, CY and others.
I ring the bell and instead of hearing the noise unlocking the door a nice lady comes to open it and asks me what brings me to the jewelry store today "I would like to try the Tissot Connect Solar" We don't have it in stock but it is the same size as this one". A young woman comes to us and says she can order it, that I don't need to leave a deposit and that it will arrive in about a week.
After talking a little I realized that she most likely owns the jewelry store.
I collect watches. From the Timex Snoopy Tennis (1975) to the Omega small seconds via G-Shock MTG and Seiko Perpétuel Chronograph and others.
For several months I have been touring jewelry stores in Greater Montreal and recently New York. I've noticed that jewelry stores generally don't have a passion for watches and have salespeople who might as well be selling washing machines and cars.
This is not the case at Bijouterie Guy Serres where we have a personalized “artisan boutique” service. The only place I had similar service was at Kaufmann of Switzerland where they sell Patek Philippe, Parmigiani Fleurier and other very high end jewelry.

The following. A week later to the day I receive a call telling me that the watch has arrived if I want to try it. An hour later (left Rosemont) I try the watch and we complete the transaction.

“Great service, they recently moved to a second floor office space on Taschereau, but the service was first rate, they fixed my wife’s antique gold chain that had been snapped by one of our kids.
It took less than 15 minutes and the job was not only first rate but the price was reasonable and service very friendly (and bilingual) I speak French well but he switched when I wasn’t sure of certain words)
All my future jewelry needs and that of my family’s will be handled by them from here on out.”

Both times, the salespeople were very attentive and gave very good advice. The chain was a little big and it only took 5mins to try another size and make the exchange.
