I returned my car 3 days early and was not given a refund. I paid in advance thinking this would speed up he check out process. I guess overlooking the mention of if you return your car early you get no refund. in my line of work I do not know if I will return early are keep longer. So I guess that is on me will not happen again will rent from someone else next time.

The car had high mileage and damaged all over the place, which I had to come back to point out. Front bumper broken on both sides, side motor cover gone on one side, windshield base cover gone on the other side. Later while driving we realized the motor cover was dragging below the car making all kind of noise. I tried to call a dozen of times during our trip to get a replacement, but couldn’t reach anyone.

The experience was horrible!!! Short staffed, system was down and they made us wait 2 hrs before giving us the car we booked a week ahead of time and made us delayed for our appointment. After we get to the counter they no longer had a small car they gave us a RAM truck which we had difficulty finding a parking spot for.At the time of drop off at 7:45 am, there was no one to respond to us or receive the key from us. We had to walk in the parking lot looking for the representative and after finding her she refused to be attentive and claimed she is busy. As we had a flight to catch, we didn't want to risk being delayed for our flight, so we just gave her the key and left, hoping we will receive our deposit.Worst car rental experience ever!!! Definetely in need of more respectful staff who know how to provide a service.

i rented a car for two weeks and i had a problem with the belt in the 3rd row seat.it was a 7 seat car and i came to change the car.when i came i was rude and with no pations i asked for a refund/change/ and all the things we ask when we are mad!!than i met the manager of avis/budget of yul airport. the guy remainded me what is good service and how lucky you are when you work at proffesion that you also likethe service i got was amazing, very pation very plasent and very kind.i really undersood that i am in good hands and i loved the Solutions that he gave me.i really hope to get service like that in the future, i am from israel the guy is from lebanon and he treated me like i am above anyone alsei will deffently rent back there. i was so pleased and warm by the good servicekeep up the good work and salute from israel

I would give 0 star if it’s an option. 1 person working while we have this line. AVIS IS ALSO A SCAM, if you select pay now on app. They will increase your total automatically after you pay. Avoid using Avis

Over 50 min wait to pickup a car after a transatlantic flight of 8h. ONLY 1 employee de serve over 20 clients for both Avis and Budget counter. Another employee for Avis Preferred and Budget Fast Break. Complete lack of management and organization skills in the midst of high season ( August). AVIS /BUDGET for the love of God, HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES!!!! Edit: when we reached the counter, our car was not available. We have to wait for other customers to return their cars at that location. Our car was booked for 4pm, and it’s already 6:30 pm and still no car !Update: after waiting for 2h and making a scene, we ended with a huge, truck-like car instead of our booked one. Not practical for parking on Montreal’s narrow streets. We’re going today to another Avis location to exchange it for the category we booked originally.

Absolutely horrible experience. I took a chance on Avis with their partnership with AA. Pre-booked a car over a month in advance. Told I have to wait over an hour, as a presidents club member, for a car when I arrive. Told this is just the way it is in the summer. This is basic logistics. You do this every day. Either you have the cars when you promise, or you don't. Likely my first and last Avis rental.

Deffinitely worst experience with car rental in my whole life, terrible service, you´r waiting by hours for cars, they do not have, everything is slow and no systematic, Absolutelly without system, Absolutelly worst time we spent in Avis on our 14 days calm vacations in Canada, even I shoud pay hundrets of EUR more I deffinitelly choose another company, at least at YUL Montreal Canada, manager and his team are absoltelly incompetent, slow and bored and lazy with no empathy. You´r wating hours and hours, even you are there with small childerns. I´v never seen so frustrated crowd as there. even Iam freqent traveller this was terrible, pls do not make same mistake as me and choose not Avis or Budget!! Never again

I recently hired a car from here at the Airport and was genuinely impressed by their top-notch service. Right from the get-go, the entire process was seamless and swift. The car provided was in pristine condition—new, clean, and in excellent running order. Both the pickup and drop-off were hassle-free and got a free car model upgrade as my ordered type was sold out. It’s refreshing to see such dedication to customer satisfaction. I’d highly recommend them for those in need of a reliable car rental service.

Unreliable, poorly maintained cars.Avis Montreal airport rental location was completely overwhelmed on Aug 10th evening, with a long queue of waiting passengers and very few cars to give out. After an hour of waiting in the Avis Preferred line (in relatively sweltering conditions) was told that I would have to pay more to get the only car available (a premium Audi, since they couldn't give me that car as part of my Full size rental contract). Watching my hungry kid by my side, after a long delayed flight, and the hour wait we had endured, I paid more and took the car.However, they gave the car with 3/8ths tank full, and unclean inside. I pointed out that the car had 62 thousand kilometers or more and was worried about its reliability. I was told, that's normal and the cars are well maintained. Untrue.Next day, after filling up gas at the gas-station, the car wouldn't start. I was stranded with my child. The car started give lots of warning messages on the dashboard and basically I was stuck at the gas station occupying a gas stall with people honking, trying to get past the call. I tried calling the AVIS roadside assistance, five times -- calls dropped frequently (not because of cellular coverage, just the system hangs up), once got routed to US roadside assistance (and they could do nothing for Canada) and finally when I reached someone they demanded another $120-200 to send someone for a jumpstart, since I didn't buy breakdown insurance.This is literally highway robbery after giving me a bad car in the first place.Luckily my mother-in-law lived not too far away and I requested her to drive to the gas station with jumper cables (which she had to borrow from a neighbor). I was able to jump start the car, left my child in my mother-in-law's care, drove two hours in heavy traffic back to the Avis location. They wouldn't pick up the phone (given how busy they are servicing at the counter), so they only option was to go back there in person.I waited yet another hour in the lines, quite apprehensive of whether I would get a replacement car (same, situation as the day before, and they were verbally telling waiting passengers that if they made reservations day-of or the day-before, those wouldn't be honored), Luckily they gave me another car. Again quite old (63K kilometers) and unclean inside. I took that car and requested that they remove the premium car surcharge, which I think they did. At least I got that.Luckily the new car did not breakdown (though its wipers were basically useless in the heavy summer rain) and the tires were worn down (causing slipperiness in wet/slick roads). It showed signs of age, but at least it was more reliable.This was about the worst rental experience I've had. I have lot of sympathy for the hard working folks at the counter. The counter folks were patient and courteous. I feel for them. I have no beef with them. They were as helpful as they could be.But the experience as a Avis Preferred customer was extremely poor:- Having to pay more since they didn't have the car type I reserved- Car broke down- Unable to get roadside assistance- A half day of precious vacation time lost in dealing with the car.- Waiting multiple times in long queues.

Stay far away from this place!!! If I could give a zero I would. The staff is so rude it’s indescribable!! How does a company allow this? Are they being treated poorly? Besides the attitude for no reason, why not have a system organized enough to ensure cars are ready for customers if they book in advance without a wait. Why over promise and under deliver??? It’s 2023 surely there’s a better way! Instead of upsetting customers by making them late for work, for family, for important life events and making staff consistently deliver bad news - do better and raise the bar. Finally, deliver what you offer. Won’t even get the car I chose it’s the least of worries but for some people this is important for their bikes, their families for whatever the reason. Look at what 5 star companies are doing right and adopt that - their staff are probably happy maybe you should start there. The news would’ve been better delivered with kindness and a smile not “this is normal cancel if you want” !

Extremely rude staff, terrible service and you don’t get wht you asked for here. Make sure you ask for availability before you hand over your credit card and driving license. I made an online booking for a full-size vehicle and when I arrived they had no vehicles ready and asked me to wait. The counter staff were super rude and unfriendly. Take my advice and avoid this place at all costs. If you’re desperate try to book a car outside the airport.

A long waiting in a check-in queue was a punishment for choosing the best offer (compared to other companies), getting a BMW instead of Hyundai for the same price was very pleasant, everything else went on smoothly, we had no problems at all.

No mobile check in the way they have in USA. Avis “preferred” is non existent. Cars are normal/good. No trash cans when returning the car! And not a soul in sight. No one to check me in.
