Very disappointed with the customer service today at checkout. Large promotional posters for members, I am a member, let me know. Everything is complicated, telling me that I have to apply for the loyalty card online for the discount. I never receive the email. Unresponsive staff, no manager present to help me. I would have saved almost $50 on my $500 bill today with their promotion but after 20 minutes at the checkout with the poor cashier who didn't know what to do, I gave up... too bad I like their products, but I became a member for nothing in the end...

Store associates won't even bother logging into their system to find the original receipt for the items I purchased, in order for me to return them. Won't return again at MEC.

Love the staff, they're really nice. Also, they're ready to help, but also let you browse by yourself(I absolutely hate when the staff jumps on you from the get go and follows you around). They have "learning" sessions weekly, where they teach you about "XX" facts regarding to outdoor activities. I'm making this review , literally just to share that they are eco-friendly, but its a great shop overall. (TRANS AND ECO FRIENDLY) slay ?️? (blurry photos caption: Trans people are welcomed).

This is probably the first time if not one of the few times that I've ever written a Google review of a shop from my account. But quite literally had the worst experience at this outlet of MEC.
Called the place regarding a new bike and was answered by someone who was straight up rude throughout the call, hung up on me while telling me to wait to check whether a bike was available and then didn't bother calling back, said that he was working "upstairs" and was not familiar with what was available in the shop (it later turned out that this person was the bike mechanic. I wonder what this was about).
Got a new bike purchased after a very helpful salesperson (Francois). However, the bike was assembled by the same mechanic who responded to my call in my first encounter with the store. Used the bike twice and narrowly avoided an accident as the front wheel was too loose and hadn't been axled properly. More problematically, the rear wheel and its tubing all fell apart. I live up north close to the river in Montreal and can't even go to this outlet to inquire why these basic assembly things were overlooked in my bike. My perception was that this outlet only caters to a specific kind of clientele contrary to their efforts in performativity of being an inclusive company. In any case, one expects that what differentiates a brand like MEC is their professionalism but my experience has been thoroughly disappointing to say the least.

Great service! I received great advice and was able to try a ton of different sized climbing shoes before finding the right size and model, without ever feeling like I was in the way! On the other hand, as mentioned in other comments, the prices indicated do not reflect reality, the sales are not updated (in the end the pair I chose was on sale, so everything is perfect!)

j appelle pour des info sur des bottes alpine, je prend donc l option téléphonique chaussure, ca c est après 3 min d écoute d option, on me répond et on peut pas m aider , on me dit que c est dans le département de l escalade, alors il me transfert dans les vêtements, c est tu juste moi ou le service est inapproprié ??? et bang un client de moins

Few choices of Patagonia coat for example, compared to the website.
The MEC brand is very present, cool it's their brand, but diversity in other brands could be cool too.
The store is empty and the salespeople are not very present and helpful in helping.

Really excellent service by the staff here. My girlfriend needed a new pair of climbing shoes that were unavailable in the store, long story short Marc-André (and the rest of his staff) were extremely helpful. Even though we weren't able to get a pair in the end we both appreciated the effort they put in. Can tell they are a passionate team here. Highly recommend
