Place Newman is a small, dark, and gloomy mall with limited shopping options. While it has a well-stocked Maxi supermarket next door with reasonable prices, the rest of the mall offers little in terms of variety. The mall is home to a dollar store, a cigarette store, a hair salon, and a few "crappy restos," as described by one reviewer. The Maxi supermarket is considered one of the better-run locations in the franchise, but the overall mall is often described as a "shell of its former self." Many iconic franchises that used to occupy the space, such as Steinberg's, Zellers, and Radio Shack, have since closed down or relocated to other areas. Despite the presence of a Buzzfit gym and a Dollarama, most of the store spaces in the mall remain empty, leaving it with a sense of emptiness and lack of vibrancy.
