“State monopoly store, offering a very (too?) varied choice, but not necessarily adapted to the taste of the local population. Port wine at $4999 (yes) is not for the average plebeian... On the other hand, brandies from Alsace or elsewhere, for 3 years, nope. Fortunately, the staff knows about it, or can ask colleagues for advice. The distribution of wines according to country or region is understandable, but also separating red wine from white (from the same region) on other shelves is quite funny. Not to mention the energy waste of holding hundreds of bottles of white wine in refrigerators: by the time you finish shopping and get home, it won't be cold anyway. But for picnickers at Pointe-Merry, it's happiness...”
