I needed rear brake pads for my Honda. The store's website indicated they had the parts in stock, and since the location was only 10 minutes from my workplace, I decided to go there in person. Upon arrival, I was informed the parts were in a nearby warehouse and would arrive in 15-20 minutes.
During the waiting period, I also ordered a set of brake rotors and proceeded to pay the bill. Immediately after completing the transaction, I noticed on the receipt that the brake pads were nearly double the price of what was listed online. The website price was $78 (consistent with other sites), but I was charged $134 in-store—a significant difference.
I was told that to get the online price, I would have had to place the order myself for in-store pickup.I've soon learn that my original order paid cannot be refunded.
They show me a note on the receipt which indicates that only exchanges or credit can be accorded in the case of a return.
I had to place a new order online and pay for the pads a second time. Consequently, I now have a $134.59 + tax store credit that I can only use by making future purchases at this location.
If a price correction or a refund is treated like that, what to expect if there is a problem with a defective part or a warranty claim ?
This has been the worst experience I've ever had at an auto parts store.
