Fantastic service and knowledge. The saint Henri location is a vibe, one can listen to vinyls, attend live music, shop the records, relax in cozy community setting while drinking great coffee.
The owner Kaz fixed a vintage record player, help educate me and better my stereo system for ultimate listening experience.

Incredible service. They fixed my ancient Yamaha turntable and amplifier quickly and professionally. If you have analog equipment that needs attention, call them immediately.

These guys are completely out of their minds.
I asked for a quote by email for a relatively simple and common repair on a Fostex cassette multitrack (likely a belt or pinch roller replacement). Without even seeing the unit, they replied with a $1,200 CAD estimate, plus a $350 deposit just to begin.
No diagnostics. No breakdown. Just a sky-high number that has no basis in reality.
This kind of pricing feels more like a trap for the uninformed than professional service. If you know what you’re doing—or even take 5 minutes to research average repair costs—you’ll realize how absurd this is.
For context, similar repairs at reputable audio service centers typically cost $150–$300 CAD at most—even for full overhauls. I asked for a breakdown of the price and never received a clear explanation.
Either this was an attempt to take advantage of someone they assumed didn’t know better, or they simply don’t want to do the job and prefer to price it out of reach. Either way, it’s not professional, and I cannot recommend them based on this experience.
Shop around. Montréal has better and more honest options.

The staff at Audiophonie are honest, friendly and knowledgeable. They have patience when speaking with people. This is greatly appreciated especially if you are an older person. Their Prices are most reasonable, and their service is fantastic. This is the best place in Montreal to have your Stereo equipment repaired. I am a very happy camper. This places just amazing - I had my beloved amp recapped and the whole experience was top-notch. They kept me informed throughout and even followed up to make sure everything went well.
