Seemingly a bit rude on the phone and refused pickup of my deceased dog, even though they are only 17 Minutes away from my house. They said it is not their district. At least to me that makes no sense whatsoever, but there is no need to be even a little rude about it. Unprofessional, making a difficult situation even worse. They did however directed me to the SPCA which is further away, making it a longer wait time for pickup. Sincerely, hope they treat living animals in their care better. Do I think this should stop anywhere from adopting a pet here? No.

I don't even give them a star for euthanizing a dog, you have to make an appointment and you give them 137 tax and you can't even stay there during its last breathC UNACCEPTABLE

I called several times to find out if a cat was still available, I was never answered and once there the lady told me that she had received my voice message, but that the cat was already adopted (even though he was still on the site and didn't bother to call me back). Luckily, she offered me a little kitten that looked a lot like her, saying he was 4 months old. When I wanted to vaccinate the kitten, I was told that the veterinarians had no specific schedule and that either I would leave my animal there for the night and pick it up the next day, or I would have to come when the veterinarian would be there. arrived (no specific time). I chose the first option. When I took my kitten back, I noticed once home that he was rubbing his ears a lot. He had ear mites (most certainly contracted from another animal present, because I don't have another). They followed their guarantee commitment and assured me that they had cleaned his ears of all the mites as well as having provided care so that none survived. After consulting with my own vet, it turns out that no one cleaned his ears, they were disgusting and it was preventing the product from getting through to kill the mites. I did not return to give the white shepherd the booster vaccinations, because I did not want to leave my animal on their premises for fear that there would be another episode of mites. Also at the vet, I was assured that depending on her size and weight, either the date of birth was wrong and she was younger, or my cat had not been weaned properly (so I imagine that those who (one put up for adoption didn't want to keep the babies long enough and took them away from the mother). I find this a shame because an unweaned cat can really develop emotional and behavioral problems, and no one has ever said a word to me about it. Not everyone may be comfortable with a kitten who gets into more mischief. As for the veterinary hospital affiliated with them for sterilization, I give it a 10/10, everything went well and I was well received.Subsequently I adopted a cat but at the SPCA to see the difference and I was much more satisfied.I still think that adopting from a shelter is still a very good idea... But not at Berger Blanc!!!**RESPONSE TO THE WHITE SHEPHERD**This kitten has never been outside, even until this day. YOU are a shelter, so YOU welcome animals of all kinds, including animals that could have mites. It's just normal. But the logic is to separate them from other animals! Your employees told me that it was a litter (actually there were 2 left) that had been put in a shelter by the owners. So no strays.I already know how this treatment for moths works, thank you very much. Your employees didn't wash his ears, I went to my vet the day you gave him care and it was still full!!!! Also, I was confirmed by calling several places that the revolution had to be applied once to treat and once to ensure that everything was beautiful, which no one from your shelter advised me.As for age, I do have a date of birth and not a + or -. Still, you should have known that it was a kitten that had not been weaned, even I noticed it the week I adopted it. Some people are not capable of handling a problem animal and will prefer to abandon or give away a kitten that is causing trouble.I find it unfortunate that in your response we see no fault taken, obviously nothing is your fault! Ok the first treatment was not at my expense. Ok I had to pay for the second one as well as the vaccine for fear that your premises would transmit something else, an animal is expensive, we know that. But we are talking about a living being, and we should remember that. This is not a question of money or time, but of common sense.

I don't understand why this slaughterhouse still exists!!! What are the municipalities waiting for to stop using these incompetent people? Terrible place for unethical animals. Honestly I don’t understand…….. after the reports, the opinions left on them, the bad experiences that follow when the definitive closure. What will it take again?

If I could give 0 stars, I would.I can't believe this shelter is still in operation! Their website is poorly done, it shows NO animals for their Montreal branch, so good luck finding your pet in time if it ran away. They euthanize animals for no reason, probably just because they "run out of room", even if the animal is fine!Honestly, the SPCA should cover the entire Island of Montreal, at least they know how to respect animals.I leave you with an image of Lili, unfortunately fallen into the clutches of the White Shepherd, who decided to end her life, even though she was in good health and was only 9 years old. ♥

The white shepherd is no longer what it used to be. On their $ite, they may not be up to date.Looks like they don't have any dogs and cats to adopt. If it would be up to date to adopt, they would post everyone who is adopted instead of leaving photos of those they are adopted. We don't want to know and see the photos of those who are no longer there!!!And the one in Laval, you never know if they couldn't.My opinion is that they don't advertise who they are on site.
