Buy local they say… unfortunately, it’s when you come across rude store owners like this that just makes you want to keep buying online. Pure lack of customer service, you feel you’re disturbing her if you have the nerve to ask a question. Should have read the reviews before… I’ll encourage another local business instead.

I always get great service here, informative on products and caring for each individual case. Ive been shopping here for the last 10 years. Prices are the best, and selection is curated. They have been around for close to 30 years and serviced the surrounding neihbourhoods. There is a reason that, because this is a well run small business, that has organically grown. 5 star recommendation isn't enough to describe how much i appreciate being able to shop here. Its time to start celebrating the small business in our area.

really disappointed at the owner .the first time i was there she was really helpful. second time i bought a whole box of acana cat food.but the cat didn't like it (I just adopted him and still trying to figure out what he likes) so i went back to get other flavours .I went back this time and the owner was really rude. following me and my bf around but not in a good way since she didn't ask if we are looking for something or giving us any advice. almost feel like she afraid that we are gonna steal something.try to guilt trip me for wanting to buy the small bags to put cat poop in after i clean the liter because it's bad for environment.act like my pronunciation was so bad she couldn't recognize the brand "Ziwi". English is not my first language but come on how bad can you messed up pronouncing ziwi (she knows the brand cuz she has the same brand for dogs but not for cats)probably won't go back there anymore. she act like she's kinda annoyed of our presence so i will take my business elsewhere.

A very unpleasant welcome, plus you cannot return a coat or harness even if it has not been used and still has the label…Also, when it rains you cannot go inside with your dog.

Owner has always been rude. Wants to control what I buy and is up to date on what I purchased and when. She suspects I purchase at other pet shops and with her attitude, definitely not returning. I have the right to purchase anywhere I desire.

Owner was helpful and very experienced. Gives no-nonsense advice and got my dog eating again after dealing with ongoing digestive issues. Highly recommended.

I love shopping local but the owner doesn’t deserve my business. I went in today because I thought it was a beautiful store. I was on FaceTime with one of my friends because I was planning on buying for them and I on two different receipts. I was rudely approached and asked if I was recording, I mentioned I was on a FaceTime and she told me I couldn’t be. I understand policies but this is ridiculous, I was buying for a friend not in the area. If you can shop somewhere else, I’d recommend to do that. There’s multiple reviews of the same story. This woman clearly doesn’t know any customer service skills. I recommend DögHaus down the street or Pattes et Griffes in Westmount.

One of my cats was a picky eater and Claire helped me find the perfect food for her. She gave me tons of samples to try until I found the right kind.I also recently rescued and adopted my first puppy. She has been helping me from picking the right food and treats to going beyond and helping me get Rune adjusted to her new life. And has helped me when I am feeling overwhelmed with what I should be doing as a first time dog mom. Thank you Claire for your expertise!

Zero customer service!The owner of this place is awfully rude, she's impossible to deal with.Last time I've stepped foot in her store, I promise myself never again.Lady get a grip ? so much about trying to encourage local businesses... jamais!!

0/10 - wouldn’t recommendWhen there are more 1 star reviews than 2, 3 and 4 stars… you know you shouldn’t shop here. It’s probably friends who gave the 5 stars. :/I absolutely love supporting small businesses especially pet stores.….But not this one… I’m not sure how the owner keeps clients coming back with being as rude and unpleasant as she is. I went there in hopes of finding a shop where I could get my pets food. I was adopting a dog and wanted to compare prices and ingredients. She told me I couldn’t do that there…so how was I supposed to know the prices of the bags in her store then? Isn’t the entire point of browsing to… browse…. I was also looking to switch my cats food to something better so I needed to read the bags to see what kinds of ingredients they contained (she has allergies) but nope. Couldn’t do that. In addition to not being able to take pictures… sure I can research online, but how am I supposed to know what’s in the store if I can’t remember all the names of the brands.. :/ honestly Canine & Compagnie … do better.She was rude and unwelcoming from the moment I walked in, it was as if she was annoyed I was there.I want to say there was a good selection of stuff, but I can’t, I wasn’t there long enough to remember what was there. It was honestly a bunch of overpriced junk.Read the negative reviews about this place before going, discourteous people like her shouldn’t run businesses.

Horrible experience. You cannot shop in this store in peace as the owner immediately gets in your face and follows your every move, questioning you. Leave people to browse and shop. I went in this store a few years ago and it was the same thing, so I just left. Waste of time again. Why would anyone want to shop here when they are treated like a thief with the owner or her daughter following and hovering over them? Also, they have all these covid rules but then breathe down your neck. Creepy.
