I am a frequent customer and I am always treated well, in particular by the manager, Mr. Ahmed Rahbaoui. He is always very responsive by email when I have a request during or before a rental. Highly recommend, and in my many, many times as a customer I have had no issues to speak of.

My recent experience at Enterprise's 1717 Rue Berri location in Montreal was nothing short of a nightmare.I rented a car from Kitchener, Ontario, and drove to Montreal with my family for a short trip. However, things quickly turned sour when I found out on July 26th at around 8:30AM, that the rental car was missing. I immediately reported the incident as a theft to the city authorities.Upon contacting the Kitchener branch, I was advised to seek assistance from the nearest Enterprise location, which happened to be the 1717 Rue Berri branch. From the very beginning, the encounter with the staff was utterly disappointing. The attendant on the left (a person of color, mid-age, and bald) was extremely unhelpful and displayed a lack of willingness to communicate in English. He coldly informed me that there were no cars available and instructed me to try another branch, dismissing my situation entirely.Attempting to call other branches for help, I was met with equally unhelpful staff who insisted on conversing in French, despite my language barrier. Frustrated and seeking guidance, I called my original rental branch in Kitchener again, but the 1717 branch refused to provide a shuttle as suggested by my branch. When I reached out to Enterprise's customer service, I encountered another agent in the escalations department, who was equally unhelpful and dismissive. She provided no solution to my predicament and insisted I make my way to the airport location instead. When I requested to speak with a higher manager, they refused initially and pretended to file a complaint, but I was given no confirmation number.Upon arriving at the airport location, the manager showed no urgency in addressing my situation. I was left waiting for an hour while he chatted casually with others. Only after demanding their names did he reluctantly mention that they had pickup trucks available for six passengers. However, this information was only shared after hours of distress and frustration. It wasn't until 1:00 PM that I finally obtained a car, hours after the ordeal began. The lack of empathy, unprofessional behavior, and language barrier encountered at the Enterprise 1717 Rue Berri location left me deeply disappointed and infuriated.I strongly believe that the staff at this location require better training in customer service and dealing with distressing situations. No customer should be subjected to such an unpleasant experience, especially when it involves a stolen rental car during a family vacation.I sincerely hope that Enterprise addresses these issues promptly and takes necessary measures to ensure such incidents do not recur. As a paying customer, I expected better treatment and a more empathetic response from a reputed service provider like Enterprise.I caution others to consider their options carefully before renting from this particular branch in Montreal.

Unfortunately, during a recent trip to Montreal, the car I had rented from Enterprise was broken into, and its internal electric cables torn out from beneath the glove box in an attempted hot-wiring. Throughout this alarming experience, the wonderful advice I received from Enterprise roadside assistance over the phone, the patience of the tow driver who came to pick up the broken car, and the support of the staff at the airport Enterprise where I eventually received a replacement vehicle made a bad situation bearable. Thus, the awful treatment I received from the employees at this Enterprise location stands out against their colleagues' professionalism. The night of the break-in, I was told by roadside assistance that they would schedule a vehicle exchange at this location. This was a relief for me to hear, as without a quick replacement, I would not be able to return across the border to the United States. The next day, with police report filed and the positive experience I had with Enterprise the night before fresh in my mind, I headed to this office. I was looking forward to resuming my trip, or at least being told what the next steps would be. Imagine my surprise when the worker at the desk instead bluntly told me he could not help me, and that he had to deal with "plenty of Americans in situations like yours".Over the course of the next forty minutes, I was told a variety of stories, including that they had no access to car rental software, that they had no available vehicles, that they could not give an American a car with Canadian plates, and that attempted auto theft was a "common occurrence", all in a dismissive, short tone. Taken aback given what I was told the night before, I stepped away and called the regional customer service line. The representative on the phone, seemingly also surprised by the rudeness I encountered, asked to speak with the worker's manager. This manager, a man named Ahmed, proceeded to berate the representative on the phone, before thrusting the phone back in my face. Punctuated by scoffs and the sucking of teeth, the conversation reeked of malicious incompetence.I'm happy to report that later, after speaking further on the phone, I was given a new vehicle (with Canadian plates) at the Enterprise at the Trudeau airport. There, they also generously offered reimbursement for the Uber I took to the airport.I don't know what obstacles, if any, prevented Ahmed's office from offering a new vehicle. I do not work for Enterprise. But, as someone who has done entry-level menial work, I understand that the power to address an unusual situation like mine may be beyond the function of a small local branch. What I do not understand is the exasperation and immaturity of Ahmed and his partner. I had spent hours the previous night in near-freezing weather waiting for the police, and then the tow truck, to ensure Enterprise would have what it needed to document this incident, only to be belittled at this location. In the moment, I wished they had just given me a consistent explanation, or any recognition of the stress of my circumstances. Now, I wish only that I had also caught the name of Ahmed's colleague, so that he might also be scheduled for the customer support training Ahmed clearly desperately needs. In case someone from Enterprise reads this, I was there on Tuesday, October 18th between 11am and 12pm.

I rented a car two months in advance, secured with paiement. A week before I was to take the car, and this while abroad with my family, they sent me an email to tell me "sorry, we are sold out." Customer service was atrocious, had no solution, and hung up on me when I asked them to confirm if yes or no they would find a car. Terrible service, no accountability, not reliable, no follow-up.EDIT: I wrote this review and then Enterprise answered (as seen below). I sent them the details by emails and then... nothing. Even their customer care attempts are empty and inauthentic. They just answer to make it seem like they care but there is not intention to fix the issue.

Dropped off a car without any hassle. Waited for the emailed final paperwork but it never came and the rental agreement was still open. Went back to the drop off location at the bus depot. The manager, Ahmed, remembered me and apologized. He was having to help wash the returned cars. He made sure the rental was closed properly and gave me a discount for my troubles.
