I'm inspired to write a review over how incredible our experience at the Intercontinental was this weekend. We only booked one night as a special treat for my 35th birthday.
I had emailed the hotel a couple months back requesting an early check-in. They let me know that they couldn't guarantee the early check-in, but that we were welcome to use the pool at 2pm when we dropped off our bags.
When we arrived, they confirmed that our room was ready early, and that we had been upgraded to the city view King suite on the 25th floor. I was thrilled about the early check-in, and the city view room was the cherry on top.
Once we had settled in, room service knocked on the door and delivered complimentary cheesecake, sparkling and still water, and a signed card for my birthday. It was such a thoughtful surprise.
The hotel is beyond gorgeous. The lobby was offering complimentary hot chocolate for the holidays. Bar Sarah B is one of our favourites in Montreal. Le Fabrique de Bagel is just down the stairs in the concourse and has amazing bagels.
All in all, you really can't do better than the InterContinental. It has it all.

The room was clean and quiet, with a great view of the city. The bed was comfortable, the heated pool was a nice bonus, the location was excellent, and the front desk agents were very professional.

InterContinental Montréal reached out via email and provided assistance with rebooking options, along with a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. I appreciate their help and understanding.
Things happen, but how the team responds truly defines the quality of a company, and I’m glad they ultimately handled the situation with care.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience with InterContinental Montréal. I had a confirmed reservation for July 2026, and the hotel emailed me informing me that the entire property would temporarily close for major renovations. While I understand that renovations are sometimes necessary, the communication afterward has been extremely poor.
I replied to their email requesting assistance and a goodwill gesture — especially since comparable IHG hotels in Montréal are not on the same level and rebooking at a similar property will cost significantly more. Unfortunately, I never received any response at all. For a brand under the InterContinental name, I expected much better customer service and accountability.
It’s very disappointing to lose a reservation years in advance, receive no compensation, and then not even get a reply. I hope management takes guest communication more seriously, especially when making such significant disruptions to confirmed bookings.

This lovely 3 star hotel earns every star. You'll be wowed by the lovely atrium and reception area. But there's so much more ... experience the 80s all over again with lovely coffee coloured plug outlets and switches that used to work for an era long forgotten. Paint scratches on doors and old fashion door knobs only add to the ambience as loose towel racks and leaking shower heads remind you of the best this hotel has to offer. While on the 24th floor you'll enjoy adjacent views of other Intercontinental Hotel patrons giving you that great sense of community. The skyline of Old Montreal is overrated because the views of other people's hotel rooms is far more romantic then any sunset Montreal has to offer and with a room on the 24th floor the views can't be beat. I promise that you'll be at a loss for words. The dark rooms make you feel cozy and you'll certainly enjoy using the torch on you phone to read a book. I guarantee you'll be transported back to a simpler time.
Intercontinental Hotel Montreal is the gold standard for the Intercontinental brand and stands toe to toe with any other 3 star hotel in this price range.

We stayed at the InterContinental Montreal for the past two days and had a wonderful experience to remember. We were checked in by Marie, who was super helpful and gave us all the information about the hotel amenities right away.
The housekeeping team kept our room spotless, and the in-room dining from Osco Restaurant was excellent — the food never disappoints! Every staff member we interacted with was warm and hospitable, including the valet team, which can be a bit slower during late hours but always courteous.
The location is also perfect — very convenient for exploring all the main tourist attractions and surrounded by great bars and restaurants.
Overall, a truly pleasant and memorable stay. Highly recommend!

An excellent location being just above a metro station. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Asked for a little something to celebrate proposing to my girlfriend and they were more than happy to obligé. Look forward to returning one day.
