I go here often for vintage/thrifted items at an affordable price. I hate buying second hand at new trendy spots when the markup on a used t-shirt is insane. The quality and cleanliness of the clothes is great here. They have recently moved locations, which is much more spacious, organized and easy to navigate the store.Staff are friendly and kind!

Very nice variety and very large store. The section for men is really complete. Great find for Villeray.

Unfortunately prices have increased enormously and above all there are too many "reject" items.

I feel like their prices have increased dramatically on clothing since opening their new location. I also feel like they do not inspect the quality of their items when pricing.A jacket was priced at $50. There were stains all over it, dirty used tissues in the pockets, and the pockets themselves had damage and were ripped. Multiple zipper pulls were missing as well. Jackets without these defects and similar quality were the same price. Why?

The new location of le Magasin du Chainon at 4461 St Laurent Blvd is a shell of what it once was. The new Chainon is now devoted to clothing, household items and a few measly shelves of books. It's still two floors, but the space has shrunk - a lot.Gone is the furniture section that has furnished many a student's home. Gone is the lighting section that provided my funky lamps. Gone is the sports section where I used to find ice skates for my daughter. Gone is the electronics section where I once found a vintage fan. Gone is the stroller section where parents could count on finding a back-up baby stroller after having their original stolen off their front porch! Gone is the $1 Book on Mondays because the book section is just too damn small! I have found so many great books at the old Chainon store - now what am I going to do?!The Magasin du Chainon near Cremazie is supposed to be bigger with all the furniture, electronics, etc. that the Plateau location used to have -- but it's just too damn far. I don't have a car so I'd have to make a special trip to get out there from the Plateau so it ain't gonna happen. The original Magasin du Chainon on 4375 boul. Saint-Laurent was like a thrift department store that provided a great service to the Plateau community. I miss the old Chainon and I'm sure I'm not alone. And I'm sorry to say the new Chainon sucks.

Used to be my favorite thrift shop in downtown. I used to drive all way from the South Shore. Since a few months, the stock now is very small. Everytime I come there shelves are half full/half empty. I used to come for affordable baby and personal care stuff, but now something has changed. Please find more partners and shops to re-stock the basic personal care stuff!!!

Great thrift store/friperie! This place has two floors of clothing, hygiene products, knicknacks, furnitures, glasswares, used books, and other stuff. The men’s clothing section had great variety of selections including tshirts, shirts, and jackets. The books also had both English and French items. Decent prices too! Highly recommended to check out

To me it is the best friperie in Montréal. It has all we need in one place at the best price. Very organized. It has humanitarian cause and profits go to women in need. Go Chaînon Go❤️❤️❤️???

Incredible selection of donated and used goods, always able to find something especially for kitchenware. New arrivals come often. Great deals on pharmacy goods and furniture. Men’s clothing section is not the best but it does the job

This is my absolute favorite thrift store in town! Pretty wide selection of clothes to personal healthcare products. All those incomes will be donated to charity to help and accommodate women in difficult situations.
