Today October 29, 2024 the technician ''YVES'' came to our home to resolve a problem with the ignition of the fireplace which turned out to be defective due to a stone which was placed on the pilot during of the installation in 2023. Everything has returned to normal and the fireplace now operates safely. So Mr. Yves resolved the problem and satisfied us with his professionalism.

I purchased a propane fireplace from Foyers Mirabel. This will be the 3rd winter this year.Last winter, the home was in really bad shape. I called for advice and the guy told me it was the propane pipe, that we had to give the gas time to arrive... but he was in a hurry and didn't really have the time to listen to me.We brought in a repairman from another company.As a result, the installer had not set my fireplace to propane mode but rather to natural gas mode. This had the effect of clogging my fireplace because it was not burning as it should and the flame was always much too high. They didn't explain to me how it worked either. Because of this, I didn't even know my fireplace had to be in CPI mode...this keeps the pilot on at all times. So since I didn't know, my pilot was infested with spiders which made it very difficult for my fireplace to start (spiders love the smell of propane) In addition, humidity set in and parts are rusty. Oh and since it was difficult to light, each time we succeeded, it made a big "wow" and the top of the hearth rose, which caused scratches on my chimney.It's really boring because it's a very big expense!The repairman told me that he knows this shop and that normally the service is very good but this time I came across someone who did their job really badly.In short... for those who have a propane gas fireplace, as soon as the temperature starts to drop, turn on the pilot of your fireplace (CPI on the controller) this will remove the humidity and prevent spiders from getting inside. In addition, about 3 times during the summer, turn on your pilot for 15 minutes to kill any spiders that could have settled in and blocked the pilot.Pleases.
