I want to share one of the reasons why I left BMO: I went to the branch to close my checking account and there, when it closed, I was made to pay the bank fees ($30), while I always kept $6,000 to avoid paying these fees (I cashed them at closing). I was really surprised because at the beginning, when I opened an account, I was NEVER told that I would have to pay $30 when it closed, but on the other hand I was told if I kept $6,000 I would be exempt.I asked the girl at the checkout several times how we can avoid this, the answer was "you have to pay them" and just as soon as the account was closed she confirmed to me that I could have changed the account first. account for the expensive month (which is just $4) and then close it!!!!I find this to be really dishonest and unacceptable!!!! Set up an appointment over the phone with customer service. Had my appointment set up 2 weeks prior and he canceled my appointment because he leaves at 6pm instead of the appointment setup for 6:30pm. He emails me last minute after I've waited 2 weeks to speak to him. Very unprofessional!
