Very, very (even a little too) vintage but you have to give it a try.
The service is attentive and efficient.
Tadoussac is very small so almost everything is within walking distance (be careful, it goes up a bit sometimes).
A must see.

“Decent basic hotel. Fridge in room and heating works well. No elevators to top floor rooms. Note you have to check in before 5pm when the shop closes - if you're taking an afternoon whale watching tour you might struggle to make this time so best to check with them in advance. No breakfast included but there is a bakery nearby that opens early and does coffee. Motel does provide a coffee pod for the room. Room is quite expensive though for its basic-ness but there are not a lot of other options in town”

“La Chouette Virée is in covid mode, so we were able to enjoy the entire house, kitchen, etc. in “rental” mode rather than “hostel” mode as before.Philippe is very welcoming and invites us to take the tour and enjoy the many advantages of the land. We enjoy the raspberries that grow here and there (good timing for us!) and we are invited to help ourselves to the private garden and other herbs that are spread everywhere. The lettuce and beans were very popular and delicious!Perhaps this is due to a reduction in staff, but a few things left something to be desired when we arrived: moderately clean fridge which had to be re-washed, and which contained so many leftovers from others or from the owner, to the point that we struggled to fit in our food. We're against waste, that's for sure, but helping ourselves to the food left before leaves us a little cold. Maybe a 2nd fridge? Half-washed stuff in the sink, several flies flying around the building. Nothing catastrophic, but we would appreciate better preparation.The land is worth it, nice look. Very pleasant hammock. I took advantage of the river not far away to swim. excellent opportunity to cool off! But know that there is clayey soil in it, which did not bother me, my children did. Fireplace area and wood provided, much appreciated. Very beautiful garden and country grounds.This place is excellent for a quick getaway to the area, quite close to local activities, if you are looking for complete accommodation (this is rare). It's not perfect and has some flaws (the shower flow is very low) but it has a lot to like. We recommend it! To try again in hostel mode with meals perhaps? The ones on the site look delicious but this portion was not available when we visited.”
