Classy restaurant with outdoor seating off the water. The staff is super friendly.
The chef is incredibly talented and goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions without compromising the magnificence of the meal. You get to speak with him directly.
Best meal I have eaten since being diagnosed with celiac 10 years ago; actually it’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life.
I ate salmon salade with berry sauce.
Followed by duck with sauce, sweet potato fries with tangy dip and carrots & asparagus.
For dessert I had a maple and amaretto flavoured crème brûle with wild berries.

We stayed next door at Maison Baviare, and booked a reservation for dinner.
By far, the best meal of our 5 day vacation riding Ptit Train Du Nord. Everything was clearly made in house, and the chef is brilliant The Caesar salad with Brie croutons, and the calimari, with homemade tartar sauce were perfect. And portions were generous! We both had the wild cod and sweet potato fries with asparagus and carrots…piping hot, cooked to perfection.
Sitting on the outside patio with the sound of the river was beautiful. Service was exceptional, and our wonderful waiter was charming (with an excellent sense of humour). His English was wonderful…my French, not so much. We had a delightful evening and wish we had booked dinner there both nights for our stay in Val David. Don’t miss this gem. We can’t recommend this place highly enough!

My partner and I stayed here for a night recently and had a lovely time! The rooms are very comfortable, super clean, quiet, and gorgeous. Such an amazing location with nice nature views everywhere and the relaxing sound of the water.
We also ate at the restaurant twice and had an amazing experience. The customer service is stellar, very friendly, quick, and welcoming. The brunch we had was perfect, thank you to the Chef for such a wonderful morning! Can’t wait for our next visit here :)

Our new favorite restaurant! We experienced a wonderful reception and meal last weekend.
Beautifully situated next to the river and tastefully decorated, with a warm and welcoming staff. We sat next to the fireplace while we enjoyed expertly crafted cocktails of the alcoholic and nonalcoholic kind.
We sampled the fully chefs menu, each dish was plated with design and flare. Sampling one another’s plates made it hard to choose which dish was our favorite.
Great job all around! Wishing you much success. We shall return.

I decided to give this gîte in Val-David 4 stars but they could easily get their 5 stars again if: they would offer breakfast, the restaurant would reopen for dinner because it is located right on the banks of the Rivière du North and it’s magnificent! ? The owners who are very nice ? moreover should be on site more often otherwise they should really leave more essential items on site for self-service such as: rolls of toilet paper, boxes of tissue paper, garbage bags, shower gel, shampoo, towels of various sizes, washcloths and etc...! I know we could call at any time but it's still annoying! ? I also know that tourists are usually less on site but we stayed more on site so we needed more essential items within our reach! The other little thing would be to make access to the Rivière du Nord easier for swimming (eg: in front of the 2 chairs that would be ideal) because the place where I decided to do dip was not ideal it was slimy because the place was muddy and full of algae even though I knew the benefits of mud and algae baths for the body! On the other hand, it's not what a regular customer is looking for as a place for swimming! I have to admit that I wasn't bold enough to find a better spot! On the other hand, the water temperature was good the first day and a little cooler the second day! By the way to put your clientele in context when we talk about swimming in a river it is not the same thing as swimming in a lake or in a swimming pool it is not designed for swimming! It’s for relaxing and meditating! ?
The location of this gîte is sublime with the Rivière du Nord and its rapids! And it’s also full of trees! The landscaping with its many varieties of perennials is really beautiful! ?
Rooms: The rooms and bathrooms are minimalist in style, freshly renovated and brought up to date! The main bed might be a little too soft for some?? ?And the shower can be a little slippery for some elderly people! Adding a rug would be ideal! Maybe adding more towel racks would be handy too!
Nearby activities: Small shops, small cafes and interesting little restaurants are nearby! ?
Safety: The access code is secure and easier to use than I thought! ?
Noteworthy details: Would we recommend this cottage! Yes ! Just for the fact of having holy peace as they say in good Quebec! The place is so quiet that you can finally be peaceful! ?❤

I don't recommend the restaurant not open before July... No lunch / too expensive / bed almost on the floor. Kind and helpful owner. No seating comfort, bar chairs. Extra site
For athletes only.

We stayed in two of the rooms in this inn during our time riding the Petit Train du Nord bikeway. The location is right off the bike path and about 2 minutes via bike from the Val-David main street. It sits directly on the river and the views and sound of rushing water are beautiful and relaxing. The accommodations were excellent - very nice, updated bathrooms, well appointed and comfortable beds and AC units for the summertime. There is also a shared "kitchen" area with dishes, utensils, tea and coffee and a microwave. Finally, the bike and luggage storage closet were convenient and easy to lock and secure. We were there early in the week and the restaurant was not open but that was not a problem as there were several restaurants including a local micro-brewery nearby. We loved our stay at Les Passionnes in Val-David and highly recommend it to others traveling through.Rooms: Very nice, updated bathrooms. Well appointed and comfortable beds. Space to move around. The portable AC units were nice with the July heatSafety: Quiet area and street. We felt very safe staying here.Walkability: Right off the Petit Train du Nord path and an easy walk or bike ride into the main street area of Val-David
