It was my first time visiting Renaissance, and honestly, my first time ever going to a second-hand clothing store. But it turned out to be a very positive and useful experience. I discovered that you can actually find clean, high-quality pieces—some of them look almost brand new. With a little time and searching, you can find beautiful items at very affordable prices.
I also liked the idea behind it: giving clothes a second life, saving money, and reducing waste at the same time.
My visit to Renaissance completely changed the way I see second-hand stores, and I honestly recommend anyone to try it. You might be surprised by the quality and the unique pieces you can find.

Good thrift store with lots of clothes and home furnishing. Lots of shoes as well. However, the toy section is rather small compared to other locations.

Very rude staff and insanely expensive prices. A backpack that costs $5 brand new at Decathlon was being sold for $9.75 used here….
Go anywhere else!

As a DVD enthousiaste and collector I have been having a great time going every single week to buy some DVD’s during the whole winter, 4.50$ was already overpriced compared to every single other local thrift shops and pawnshops (all between 1$ to 3.00$) so 4.50 was the ceiling price already. Sadly today I have arrived to the cash to pay and realized it’s been increased to 5.50$ per DVD. Store Owner or Manager if you are reading this trust me who ever took this decision is smoking some really good stuff because it’s a mistake not only this will hurt your DVD sales but turn off a lot of clients abs DVD enthusiasts. As far as myself sadly today was my last time coming :( clearly who took this decision took a very poor decision.

Left store without half my finds. I admit I was in a hurry to catch my paratransit but, quand même! I had to navigate the basement stairs, difficult with my knees, to find most of the things I was looking for. I happened across a wonderful worker who help me with my.walker and my products! But...
Not only did the cashier forget to punch up my things, she was rude and didn't answer verbally at all! Not impressed.Prices of books have gone through the roof BTW.
I called back to see if my things were still at the cash after returning home. Rude man answered the phone. Said he'd check and that I should call back. Called back. Had to reexplain everything again and the woman rudely answered there not here. No idea where they are!
I do have to say they do have some great things, although not as good as before.
Mystified & disgruntled in Montreal.
I have since returned twice with pleasant experiences. Great finds. The staff was a bit standoffish, but semi friendly. Overall, the prices and products outweigh the cons!!

Greedy.
$5 for DVD’s here. Ridiculously over priced.
Go to the Comptant pawn shop down the road - 4 DVD’s for $5
EDITING REVIEW: Would just like to add that Renaissance has officially raised their prices on MUGS from .99 cents to $3. Guys, stop shopping here and buy off FB marketplace or your local curated thrift shop- you’ll get better items for the same price and way less. Vote with your dollar - they’re getting these items for free and trying to price gouge everyone

The cashier picked both her nostrils knuckle deep while looking at me in the eye and proceeded to touch my purchase without wiping her fingers… never coming back

I visited the store yesterday because of the Cabane Panache festival I was impressed with the customer service the employees were welcoming and helpful ! The manager guided us with great professionalism and made sure to mention the check of the collection of toys and electronics on the downstairs floor. Keep up the great work 👏

This is the God of all thrift shops. Renaissance rules Montreal. I have purchased my entire wardrobe here, and I must have spent about 100$ for 15 pieces. The pricing ranges from 4-10$ for tops and around 6-20$ for bags and shoes. Renaissance often has really nice brands in stock, but you have to search carefully to find them. If you aren’t finding amazing things here, you simply lack training on how to locate hidden gems. However, the leader of our city’s thrifting scene should set a higher example in terms of cleanliness and verifying if clothing is stained. Make sure to wash your hands after leaving Renaissance…
