Once again, I received a stellar service from Wei Wang, which as a Self-Employed individual in a complex tax situation, is not always easy to obtain. I also consulted Mary of the Atwater/Westmount branch, who is well versed and respected in the field of U.S. CANADA Cross boarder taxation. Mary's efforts in successfully preparing my American streamline filing were invaluable and helped me avoid a potentially catastrophic outcome. Together with Wei, she seamlessly brought me into compliance on both sides of the boarder and gave me much needed peace of mind. Thank you, ladies. You are the best!

tax preparer Wei Wang immediately spelled my name wrong on the first form, which did not inspire confidence about her attention to detail. And then it was just quite difficult to communicate- maybe if we were speaking in French it would have been easier but I did call to confirm that I could do my meeting in English. Also i’m not a tax expert so I can’t say for sure, but in the next office the other staff member was giving a man Canada/ US dual citizen advice that from personal experience as a dual citizen i think might have been disastrously incorrect? She was saying that despite this guy living in Canada, renting an apartment and using the healthcare system in Canada, he should be paying US taxes not Canadian because he worked for a US company. Again I could be wrong! And I don’t know the details. But my gut just didn’t trust that I was going to get an accurate filing done there, despite their high prices, so I left.

The worst experience ever!! My husband and I decided to filed our taxes with H&R as the price advertise was lower than $100. When we call to make an appointment, we ask for an estimated price but the lady said we would only knew after.
The day of our appointment a lady that barely spoke English said she will filed our taxes, I asked for someone else but they say she could do it. Long story short, she ended up changing our marital status (which she never asked us).
They charge my husband $250 for his taxes and $383 for my taxes + we both ended owing to the government (which we never had to pay before). Almost 1000 CAD between H&R and paying taxes.
Obviously we were misled and frustrated. We won’t be going back to H&R Block, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone looking for clear, honest pricing.

I don’t understand how a company like H&R Block can operate in Canada this way without any oversight or consequences. There is zero customer service, no price transparency, and the quality of the service is simply poor. On top of that, they overcharge for what they offer.
They show no respect for people’s time, and if you share a negative experience, there’s no accountability or follow-up. You're better off doing your taxes yourself, not only will you save money, but you’ll also save time and frustration

Susan Fernandes has provided exceptional service! Not only is she meticulously efficient, but she makes sure to explain every detail during the appointment. Her work ethic and attention to detail will reassure you. She is straight forward and will answer your concerns and questions with full clarity. This is my second year doing taxes with her, and I’ll be coming back if she is there again. Highly recommend!

Stick with me here because it's a bit of a journey. I had a terrible experience with H&R Block trying to file my 2023 taxes. It was a long story I won't bore you with, but to make it short, I was ignored until AFTER the due date and had to pay a lot of money last minute to get them rushed by an accountant so I would not be penalized. After attempting to resolve my issue numerous times, I filed a BBB claim against them. I was put in contact with Mary. Mary took care of my 2024 taxes, and to say she made the experience incredible would be an understatement. Mary is knowledgeable, kind, and really helped me through a stressful experience. I have fully changed my tune and would recommend ANYONE go see her. Thank you Mary, you are the best.

Terrible service, very slow, could not explain anything they did. Double booked our appointment and then canceled it only once I arrived at the branch. Never contacted me for my taxes, I had to go/call multiple times over a 6 week period to remind them to do it. Do not recommend

I had booked an appointment by phone. They didn’t book it on their side and even though I had left many phone messages trying to confirm the time, they never returned my calls. Finally I went to the office to verify my appointment and they accused me of not having made one. They never returned calls and don’t even check messages. They really need to tell people they only take online bookings. Even when I went there and tried to book a later appointment they couldn’t send me an email. Jonathan….wrote it in pencil on the back of a card. Thanks! Like I will trust that one. The receptionist had no way of booking an appointment on line??? Unbelievable and he was accusing me of never having called.

I was 10 min late, I just called them to let them know, they waited for me without problem. The staff was very nice and the process took around 35 min., she explained to me very well everthing. Was my first time going there, I will be back next year

Can’t respect the time of your appointment without giving any explanation, I waited in the lobby for over an hour without ever seeing somebody for why it’s taking so long or when I will be seen.
