The customer service at this bank is first class. I've done business here for 35 years with no complaints. During that time I've used a WST home equity loan to float some projects. I'm impressed by the fact that the banking crisis of 2008 had little effect on WST operations, certainly an indication of sound practice and good management. Bank officers occasionally spend time at a window, and tellers are well qualified to start more involved banking processes before proceeding to an office, so I have rarely had to wait to get my business started, and done.

It takes forever to talk to someone human on the phone. They blocked my card and I can’t find anyone to talk about it with. Can anyone recommend an alternate bank?

I love this bank. They are always so nice, personable, and efficient. Never had a complaint or bad day with them, ever. I feel absolutely safe with them, and I hope that as long as I with in RI, they will be my number one choice for financial services.

My wife, Lucille, and I applied to this branch to re-finance our property in Charlestown. Getting a mortgage can be a very difficult and even stressful process. Our previous experiences with other banks over the years, while always successful, were also nerve wracking at times ! Our recent experience at Washington Trust was so positive, that we felt other folks should be told. From the very beginning of my first phone call with Chris Conley, to the final closing with Attorney Josh Sroka, we felt tremendous support and knowledgeable help ! Special thanks to Candace with her skills at the last minute, helping us make an out of state wire transfer, so we could close at the right moment ! Truly, we feel these people care for the well being of our community, and take extra steps to make life more pleasant for their customers !

The customer service in this bank is absolutely terrible. I'm closing my accounts today. Rather than employing a loan officer, they have their tellers handle home equity loans. Complete incompetence!
