I have personally worked with Dr Linda Farrington in the early 2000's at Northern RI AH. I was her surgery technician . I just moved back home after living 6 years in Atlanta. I live in Somerset and work for Baystate Veterinary . My dog Khloe needed a dental. There was no-one else I trusted than Dr Farrington . I drove 45 mins each way to bring her there. I would have drove hours . My dog is 12 and my service dog and I was concerned but knowing Dr Farrington was doing the surgery I was not worried . Dr Farrington cares about her patients and does everything she can. I have known her to stay after hours and call clients on her day off. Also her prices are more than reasonable. I will never go anyway else. I have worked with many doctors in my 28 year Vet Career. Dr Farrington is the best !!!!!

Was told we got a call about an appointment neither me nor my husband had any voicemail. The deposit we had on one appointment they refused to credit toward our cats next appointment despite the only reason my husband was able to reach them was because they called about our cat we had seen. Mind you they have 2 contact numbers for all our pets. Anytime we want to make an appointment its a pain getting ahold of them ever to make appointments. They couldnt even just one time deal move the credit over for the cats appointment, because ya know we have 40$ to gamble with the vet to answer. Not pleased with this vet as of late.

Came here with my cat a few years back because someone recommended them for being very kind. Was met with coldness, attitude, judgement and the actual facility was dirty, noisy, and lacked compassion. What they ultimately provided was a traumatic experience in the face of putting my best friend down.My cat was born with an esophageal defect and over time it was closing up. I brought him in to this place, with all his vet history from MSPCA Angell in Boston, hoping to have a good experience closer to home but knowing we may have to put him down. The staff here looked down on me for my financial situation, didn't offer any alternatives. The woman who was the doctor was very abrasive. She lacked any compassion for my situation. After making what felt like a rushed and partially coerced decision to put my cat down through mouthfuls of tears and dogs barking loudly and making the cat nervous, they took my boy away into the back room. They told me they would be right back with him, they needed to put the arm catheter in to administer the medicine that would put him to sleep. When they brought him in the room ( nearly 45 minutes later) they said he was troublesome so they needed to sedate him early, without me there. I never got to say a proper goodbye to him with him lucid at all. It was the worst expereince I have ever had putting an animal down and I would never reccomend anyone go here. They didn't even say they were sorry for my loss, didn't tell me to take my time, and even seemed to judge me for crying. He was my best friend and this place ruined our last moments. Wish I had called for a refund or walked out without paying because it's been years and thinking about it still makes me sick.

I’ve been bringing my rabbits here for about 2 years. When I eventually adopted a dog, it was a no-brainer that he should come here too. The staff call to check in on the health of my little ones whenever they’re not well or had been seen at Ocean State (the clinic has a close partnership and regular communication with this animal hospital). For rabbits, especially, it can be hard to find any vet. I was so lucky to learn that Compassionate Care does care for exotics. My bunnies have regular nail trims here with the technicians.

They have cared for 4 of my dogs over the years. Always very kind & show compassion. When one was going to stay overnight as a snow storm was coming they took such good care of her. She was a rescue that had been left in a home with other dogs before getting found. I was so concerned as she slept on my bed no cage. They let her have run of place as she was only one spending night, one stayed later than usual with her to be sure she was okay. I was grateful. When my Misty got ill & passed I did have to go to OSAH as they were booked. They called Me when they found out & sent beautiful card & flowers. Misty was a sweetheart, like Sandy in Annie,

I have always brought my pet there since I rescued him and the staff were always okay until recently. About two years ago I had some family issues that unfortunately involved my dog and he was taken from me without a notice. I immediately called them to let them know about the situation and that if they can please not authorize any changes of the name in the account and if someone tries to do that to immediately let me know. They assured me that the name on the account can’t be changed unless I give the okay to do that and told me that they will leave a note about it so others are aware. About a month ago I called because I couldn’t access my dogs records through petly and the person that answered the phone was not helpful and very rude about the situation. She told me that I supposedly never called regarding the issue and that there was no consult regarding the situation so she couldn’t do anything to change it unless I get police and a lawyer involved. I kept explaining that I have called before and everyone assured me that everything can’t be changed unless I give the okay to and that they would give me a call about it. Not one call did I get about the change of ownership on the account for my dog and now I unfortunately can’t even get my dog back. I honestly only went there for one tech and veterinarian who unfortunately doesn’t work there anymore. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Had a minor emergency with one of my animals and tried calling a couple times. They picked up and hung up on me immediately without saying anything but I could hear dogs barking in the background

The doctors are great some of the support staff not so much. I've had all my animals here since before they moved to where they are now I had to put my last one to sleep a few days ago at emergency clinic I called 5he clinic to find out where I could cremated him they said they would do it for 280 a vet ive never seen or given a penny to said they would do it for 125 I see no loyalty to clients that is a very large difference in price

We’ve been bringing our pup to Compassionate Care for years now. Our previous vet was very rough with our dog, to the point where he was terrified of going to the vet. That wasn’t the case here. The staff at Compassionate Care have always been absolutely lovely with our dog, to the point where his fear eventually went away. They are gentle but thorough, incredibly friendly, and - as their name states - compassionate. When our pup got sick, they handled him with the utmost care and made sure he was comfortable as they did everything they could to make him feel better. They called us with updates on his status, and after we took him home, they made sure to call us to check in and see how he was doing. When the day that every pet owner dreads came, the staff at Compassionate Care was absolutely wonderful. They worked us into their busy schedule and let us do everything we could to make sure that our last moments with our dog were as comfortable for him as possible. We were offered sympathy and privacy when we needed it, and given the time we needed to grieve. Our technician, Julie, deserves a particular shout-out. She was there for our boy when he was sick, and she made what is always a difficult experience much more bearable. She offered us empathy at our lowest moment, and for that we will always be grateful. If you’re looking for a vet who genuinely cares for your companion, look no further than Compassionate Care in Cumberland. When we eventually get another dog, we will absolutely be hopeful to return here with them.

Should not be called "compassionate". My dog of 16 years suffered a terrible fall and needed to be euthanized. Although she was in terrible pain they wouldn't see her. Made me drive quite a distance to end my dogs suffering. No compassion there!

This is my 7th time being to this vet and they take my money and haven’t done anything but make my dog worse. They should call it compensation care. They don’t care about anything but the money that’s coming in.

I am not one to write bad reviews for vets given the nature of the business but I am more upset then anything. I specifically only see one vet and have that noted on my account.. I made an appointment with said vet and they waited till I got here (1 hr commute) to tell me she no longer works there and I was scheduled with someone else.. HOW RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE!! Only getting 3 stars because the technicians were always great..
