I recently went on the hunt looking for storage containers. I went to three of these area dollars stores, because I didn't feel like driving to Walmart. However, I quickly discovered why I don't go to dollar stores. Although the woman wasn't as bad as the one in another further down the road, she seemed suspicious because I stopped and attempted to get her attention, when she looked in my direction. I looked at her, hoping that she would say, "May I help you with something," before addressing her, because she was with a client. Instead, I decided to continue my search.
Once I got to the checkout, I asked if she possibly had some other containers stashed away somewhere. She stated that it was all she had, and that was fine. However, the interaction was still a little unsettling. I get the impression that people actually risk their freedom to shoplift from dollar stores which caused it.
At any rate, I've decided that the next time I'm in need of containers, or any similar items, I'll either drive to Walmart or order them online. I don't have the time to deal with those attitudes. Life is too short.

This used to be a nice Dollar General but it's gotten really bad over the past few months. Most of the aisles are not handicap accessible as there are boxes and stocking carts everywhere. On several occasions, I've purchased a product because it was on sale but once I got to the register, despite having the coupons saved on my account, was not given the discounted price. I've brought up the coupon issue to the manager but it has never been resolved.

Theft from employee today,around 5:45pm gave a 20 , change was 1.83...gave me the change, put the dollar in his pocket...besides that store is ok.

This location is stupid. I went to this one in East Providence to shop. That day, I did bring along the latest flyer and simply circled the items I want acting as my shopping list. When the order was being rung up, none of the sale items rang up properly. A manager had to go to the register to enter the correct prices. I asked, "Why did this happen? This sale went into effect 4 days ago". She said "Oh, this is a CONVENIENCE location. We don't honor sale prices unless you bring in the flyer like you did and we can manually put them in". I usually shop at the Seekonk one and thought I'd give this closer to me location a chance. "This makes no sense", I replied "So, if I came in without the flyer, I wouldn't have gotten the sale price on items because I couldn't prove it?" She replied "yep". I'm like "Is this something I have to do at the Seekonk, Ma store?" "No, that's a REGULAR store location. They automatically honor sale prices. This is a CONVENIENCE location." "Doesn't sound too convenient to me if you're not going to charge customers the right price on items". Her answer to my question was just asinine. I left this store perplexed.But why I stopped shopping at this store all together? I bought 2 packages of their brand of corn chips. I opened a pack, put my hand into the bag to grab a bunch and my hand came out COVERED in grease. I figured "Okay, perhaps it's was a goof up by the company on this particular bag. I opened the other package--same gross thing! It made no sense considering the bags were months away from the expiration date. Needless to say, Dollar General does antics at certain locations to overcharge unaware customers and has no quality control when it comes to their products. Just another new store not worth shopping at.

I am a big fan of Dollar stores, so I have been visiting some of the "other" ones besides Dollar Tree. This Dollar General is one of the "older" traditional ones on the outside, the inside was a bit cramped like most Dollar General stores, but stuff was organized well on the shelves.I got some juice and they had a large variety of them to choose from....either 100% juice items to the ones that are mixed or "cocktail" ones.The prices are comparable to other large grocery stores.

I used to be a customer... I stopped here daily after work, often times there were skateboarders in the parking lot (like this particular time). The skateboarder missed cued a trick and hit my car with his skateboard. After telling him to be more careful near people expensive property he told me off and threatened me. I told the nightly manager who found great amusement in my complaint and did nothing about the skateboarders damaging their patrons property. Dollar tree offers the same goods at a cheaper price and there isn't skateboarders there.
