Absolute WORSE, OVER PRICED, RUDE, establishment ive ever been to my dog was "suppose" to be treated for mites which i seen no difference after two weeks. I called them to let them know and they wanted him to come back which i was not paying again after already a almost 300 dollar bill. They said i could come pick up a antibiotic and shampoo i said no problem another 56 dollars wasnt a issue. I show up at 12:35 on google it says open no where on the website says they close daily for a lunch break from 12-1:30 smh. I pull around the back and see a employee walking in with her lunch and asked kindly if we could just please grab the medicine fast since we live 25 minutes away. She was rude and had a attitude and said they were closed and couldnt help anyone clearly her taco bell over being kind and helping someone who had to travel 50 minutes was not on her agenda. She told me to hold on just to send another woman out to tell me no with her atitude. It's ok because we will never be back our visit last week was just as bad gave my puppy a 65 hundred dollar puppy at that 2 shots he didnt need claiming he was having a allergic reaction to his rabie shot because he threw up a little clear spit which was probably just from him pulling on the lease. I could hear him crying and squeeling in the back because we werent allowed back where they were. So a 300 visit to not even have my baby fixed of his problem but I rather spend the 300 again to deal with kinder people and customer service...dont waste your time theres plenty of other places to bring your fur baby with better pricing and better more friendly customer service.

Does anyone else dread calling this place? It's either busy for hours.. (I've been told by a worker they take the phone off the hook because they are so understaffed) or you get the automated answering which makes you go in circles ... please hire more staff!!!!!

DO NOT GO TO GANSETT ANIMAL HOSPITAL WITH YOUR PET!!!I went there about a week ago with Maeve because her back legs were collapsing on her...she couldn't climb stairs; she would look at me as if to say"who are you?", she had a terrible time standing up; her feces were black. The doctor there took an Xray and a blood test, didn't ask me any questions about her and said, "HER HEART, LUNGS, AND LIVER ARE FINE. Of course she has arthritis in her spine and legs. She has a leg infection so here are some antibiotics and a spray. Do not let her lick her leg." $400 was the charge. Within the week, she could barely stand up, was shaking and did not know me. I took her to Povar Animal Hospital (WONDERFUL PLACE) The asst. asked me all sorts of questions about her and went off to report to the doctor. She was in there a long time and then the doctor called me to come in. Maeve was half asleep and all crumpled up. The doctor said. "She seems a sweet old dog. She peed on her pad and just lay there, not even knowing she had done it. She couldn't feel it. It's her front legs I'm worried about. The back ones are gone and she can't feel the front ones. That's why she keeps licking them. It gives her a feeling in them and she knows there's something there and she can stand on them. She doesn't have an infection. She has bleeding ulcers - that's why the feces are black. She is senile - that's why she doesn't know you at times. She has other neurological damages inside. You would be right to put her down now. I won't tell you what happened after that, but these people were kind and generous to a fault. I SHOULD SUE GANSETT ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible service and staff. Took 40+ minutes to even check in and then another 30+ minutes without updates after we were brought into the doctors room. Then after doing an x-ray per the doctors recommendation they said "they couldn't really read it" so we should go get an ultra sound. They recommended we go to Ocean State emergency and said they would call ahead for us and forward the x-rays. When we got to Ocean State we found out they can't do ultrasound over the weekend and Gansett never sent over the x-rays, and conveniently closed so nobody from Ocean State could call and confirm the details. Now we have to pay for another x-ray before deciding if emergency surgery is required. I would avoid this place if I was you.

I love this place and Dr. Munson so much! The entire staff is so kind an patient. I am a nervous cat mom and they all really take the time to explain every detail to you. While I have not met Dr. Russo, she had filled in and answered all my questions while Dr. Munson was on vacation. This place is exactly what you want in a vet! I would give this more stars if I could!

My kitten was treated for worms 3 month ago (along with all the other general vaccines) Got him fixed a couple weeks ago and noticed worms in his stool last week :( called the office to talk to them about this and they blamed me saying I didnt get a second dose? I was never told about this. My cat has never been outside. Then they said he got it from his mother. Yet... I've had him since July and he's never had worms. I believe he got them while he spent the day at the vet getting neutered. But they'll never own up to that. They kept telling me to bring him in to get treated.. they're all about the money and not about the customer service. They should be treating him for free considering the circumstances. Shame.

After my first review was posted, I received a call from the doctor to apologize for my experience. I was told they were short-staffed the days I was there, and that they had taken care of an intact male cat who was responsible for the smell. The doctor offered a complimentary follow-up exam for my new kitten, who needed to return for booster shots. At the end of the voicemail, I was invited to call her if I wanted to discuss anything. I can't make calls at work, so I tried the next day, and she wasn't in. At my latest visit, the facility did not smell bad. Everything was efficient and I was only charged for the vaccines. Honestly, I felt very awkward about the whole thing. It was like there was an elephant in the room. Maybe I'm the only one who felt that way. I really just wish they had told me that first day that they were too busy to squeeze me in because they were short on help. I would have appreciated the honesty.

I've brought my dog here for years for physicals and vaccinations. I boarded my dog (who has anxiety issues that they are well aware of) last year. He ended up breaking some of his teeth while attempting to get out of his crate (no one noticed this??) and I wasn't informed until the next day. I still gave them another chance (figuring as his vet they would go out of their way to make him comfortable after the last mishap) and the person I spoke to on the phone confirmed that the vet would be giving him some extra attention and anxiety medication if he needed it. I got there to check him in and the individual checking him in could give me none of the guarantees the person I spoke to on the phone did. He spoke to the vet that was there multiple times in the back and no one came out to talk to me. No thank you. I ended up taking my pup home and missing my vacation. Thanks Gansett!

I boarded my 3 dogs with the Gansett Animal Hospital for 3 and 1/2 days because they are the sister facility of the vet office I've been taking my dogs to for over 8 years. I will never board my animals with Gansett again. The care we got was less than desirable. To say that I am upset is an understatement! Two of my three dogs came home with severe diarrhea. If that's not upsetting enough, when we picked the dogs up from the facility Sunday morning - one of them was caked in his own diarrhea. He had clearly been sitting in his own feces all night. It was on his neck, his back, and his hind legs...which then got all over the upholstery of my car because the vet tech was unable to clean him off. The vet tech was the only person there. She seemed overwhelmed and unequipped to deal with all the dogs alone. My dogs clearly had not been taken out to relieve themselves as they all immediately had accidents on the office floor the minute they were brought out of the kennels. I paid an extra fee for them to administer ear and eye drops to my female dog. I found out the same morning that the vet tech was administering the drops to the wrong dog. She had been giving it to my boy dog who was covered in his own feces instead of the dog I specially had them make a note of. She said she was unable to give him his drops today because she was dealing with his p*** situation. Ok...but it's the wrong dog! I left three healthy dogs in their care and now I have two dogs who are suffering from severe diarrhea. We even brought them their own food to avoid any stomach upset issues because they have food allergies. I honestly have no idea how two of them ended up getting sick while in their care. For 540 dollars, at a vet facility - no animal should come out of boarding ill and covered in their own p****

The doctors at Gansett took excellent care of my cat for his entire 16 years. The vet techs, receptionists and other employees are also warm, friendly and welcoming. They even sent me a condolence card after my kitty died.
