OK, for a lower than average rate, I won't complain about the limited weekend hours, but I have kconcerns. If there were a link to address these on their website, this review would be unecessary. First, is the staff there to support/encourage, or to police? Today, as I was warming up on the treadmill before a run, a staff member saw me use my hand sanitizer on the treadmill, and accused me of making a sticky mess that put the machine down for multiple days. They must have been watching me on the camera. I was instructed to take 1 wipe and use that; how generous in winter cold/flu season. Other members were present during the lecture. Are bottles of sanitizer too much to offer? I am a 64 y.o. new runner who could barely run at all in late October. Since then, I've done numerous 5K's, one 10k, and one 2 hour run on their machines. They saw me struggle, and not a word of support or encouragement. So much for my efforts to maintain hygiene. Next, I requested a personal trainer. One of their 2 trainers called me, said the other would call me to arrange, 10 days went by, no response. But to use their weight equipment, they wanted to do an intake with fitness assessment, put me through a process that does not make sense for me at present. Their house, their rules, get what you pay for, maybe. Why the bitterness? I put in the work and mileage, and got a public lecture as a reward.

Smithfield YMCA has been great for both after-school care and summer camp. Spots fill up so fast for a reason! They are organized, communicative, and really try to structure activities so the kids have a great time. Highly recommend!

I joined this week and am just blown away at how nice everyone has been. From my first entering the building, Cathy took that extra effort to explain the programs and to show me around. Torie oriented me to the E-Gym equipment and gave thorough and clear instructions. Love the E-Gym!

I just joined this week. The staff are friendly and most helpful. I was trained on the egym equipment by Dave. He took time with me explaining how to use each machine. I am so excited to be a member and looking forward to taking advantage of all the facility has to offer.

Best camp staff! My daughter is sad that this is her last year because she ages out. Would be great if veteran campers could be Jr counselors through Jr high.

Very humid!!! Bring a bottle of water if your going to spectate!Shame on me! I should have known! I brought my boys to a birthday party, it was awesome! The pool is huge, and the kids had a lot of fun! I just wish I had brought a water bottle with me because I must have lost about 30 pounds of water weight just watching the boys swim because of how hot it is in the pool area!I'm definitely thinking about signing up for a family plan for a couple of months. It's a very convenient location!!

My wife are at the Smithville YMCA 3 to 5 days a week. We are retired and exercising regularly is essential. The staff and the equipment are the best you'll find anywhere. There are people of all ages and different physical requirements and all are cordial helpful. So far we love it!
