This place doesn’t deserve a single star. Although the doctors are great the Office staff is incompetent and useless since all they can do is place you on hold while they gossip as if you have nothing better to do . And then they state that if an appointment is not cancelled there’s a no show fee. If you DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE when a patient wants to cancel an appointment then you have no business charging anything . HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ! Believe all the negative reviews I know I should’ve .

Dr. Austin is the best doc ever but the front desk staff is HORRIBLE. If you call for a sick visit they tell you to go to the walk in. I wish I could give a negative review they’re all incompetent.

My PCP is located here. The convenience of both the hours and the patient portal & quick response time is fantastic. I have been a patient for several years. Sometimes waits can be long, but primary care in RI is scarce. It's also a one stop shop. Lots of specialists located in the same building. Additionally, there is east side clinical and RIMI located there as well. Off street parking, and located conveniently on Atwood ave.

Went here for gallstone issues, after being in the hospital and diagnosed. The dr told me I just have to poop? And it doesn’t matter that I have a family history of gallbladder issues, and told me I don’t even have gallbladder problems, that i literally just have to poop. I came here thinking my gallbladder issues were going to get addressed and possible appointment for removal, not to be told I have to go to the bathroom. I have ct scans, brought the hospital and primary care paperwork, and they still said nope you just have to poop. Very bizarre. They were rude at the front desk and didn’t know how to work the computer and didn’t know English so everyone had to write everything down for them to know what to write in the records. So odd and unprofessional

I met with "Alicia" 2/29/24 @ 2:20 and I had an appt with Dr Alexandria Colangio RNP. I asked her about Alexandria and she said she was in clinic. I was supposed to have a full physical and that did not happen. Alicia just reviewed my meds & took the basics. I was given another appt for June. During the next few weeks it was a nightmare. Every time CVS sent a med to be refilled I was called many times in one day by Jesse, Alicia, and others with questions. It became apparent my chart was not read. A med came from CVS Vitamin D
which was low at the last lab results & it was suggested I retest. I did. The results were low. I spoke to the *medical assistant* about the result on Friday. She said she had not received the results yet. I said just call the lab they are ready. She said that she recommended you take your current dose everyday and said "I could try to call it in for you" Bells went off in my head that this young lady doesn't know her medical limits. I informed her a Medical Assistant cannot call this in that it was the wrong dose. I get another call back saying CVS was denying the med because it was sold over the counter. I have been taking Vitamin D as a prescription. I asked who she spoke to..I have been going there for 55 years. She said she did call and got a tape recording. I told her she was being dishonest CVS. The Manager Tina got on the phone cutting me off not listening saying she called CVS.
Basically a doctor finally approved the Vitamin D.
I received a letter that I was being dismissed and I have 30 days. It was signed by Alexandria Colangio RNP who I never met. I called and Tina was too busy fixing something in another office to talk to me. I finally reached her. We had a bit of a chat and I was put on speaker and there was someone whispering in the background. She said Alexandria Colangio RNP was going to call my meds in for 90 days and send me my files on a disc. I said no because that would mean my record was closed. I said I would not be seeing my new provider (I won't disclose the name) until June 11 due to lack of availability in his or her schedule and vacation. I requested they continue filling my meds until the that date. If something were to happen during the interim and for example ended up in the emergency room or needed a GP and they dismissed me that would be a liability. If they read my chart they would know I was on disability and had several surgeries the past 3 years and needed monitoring.
I felt this dismissal letter was unwarranted & unethical. It shows me in a way that I am not. I am an Advocate and I was advocating . This was blown up into unethical conduct & behavior from a medical office.
Tina spews venom. She's an angry person.
I don't recommend this office.

Do not go to Dr. Austin he simply wants your money & wants to get you hooked on benzos, I knew more about medications than he did and after proving to him that my medication was not a benzo he all of a sudden wanted me to take a sleep study despite me having been through so many sleep studies to find the medication that worked that was not a benzo & was not addictive, weird how he was fine with prescribing me benzos but not a benign sleep medication. STAY AWAY.

After making my appointment for 3:30 I was forced to wait until almost 4:45 to see Dr. Austin who was rude & no clue about medicine, I came in to see a new PCP after leaving my pediatrician after years of being on a sleep med for insomnia that is a non-benzo he insisted I was wrong & that it was a benzo when I said no it’s not he smugly replied “google it then” to which I did proving to him that it was a sedative-hypnotic, at which point he said he would not prescribe it and offered me a sleep study. I’ve been through 6 sleep studies & 4 different sleep Medications all of which is in my charts I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS HE WILL PUMP YOU WITH BENZOS ONLY HE HAS NO ISSUE HANDING OUT BENZOS TO HOMELESS PEOPLE WITH STATE INSURANCE BUT DENIES THOSE WITH BCRI.

Absolutely horrible place. The reception staff not only had wrong and outdated information for me but are so unpleasant and money hungry. The doctor himself, Doctor Colgiovanni is a menace. All he did was make me anxious and scared. He was so unpleasant and so vague on everything. Do not go here especially if you are transgender like me, they will not be very receptive. They’re money hungry, greedy and so unpleasant. This was the worst doctors appointment I have ever ever experienced.

I personally like Atwood Medical because it's easy to get to, lots of free parking is available. There are several labs, eye doctors, orthopedic doctors, and urgent care. All the staff I've dealt with were professional and courteous. I come here for a variety of specialists, and my experience has been very good with all of them.

Dr Canchis himself is nice, kind, easy to work with but i do Have to give 1 star for his office staff alone. I’ve been calling and leaving messages for MONTHS to book an appointment. They NEVER answer the phone nor do they return calls. Need a referral for a specialist? FORGET IT. The staff NEVER SENDS IT and YOU WILL HAVE TO GO AND FACILITATE IT YOURSELF. Office staff are rude, unprofessional, and argumentative. Want high blood pressure and stress? Book an appointment at this practice and you’ll surely have it after dealing with the office staff.

There are a lot of competent doctors here, along with multiple labs and scanning/XRay offices.
