THIEVES, These people prey on those with little money, they are ABUSIVE. Tried to make a payment through BankNewport the payment was rejected because I was short a COUPLE of dollars, so they immediately took a $30 fee. They decide after taking my $30 dollars they would try the payment again, it failed and they took ANOTHER $30. Having tried twice and robbed me of $60 dollars they decide it was a good idea to try again. Can you guess what happened? Corrected it failed again and they took an additional $30 for a total of $90 from an account that had just a few hundred dollars that I need for rent and other expenses. Called the bank was totaled that is their policy to make 3 tries and charge $30 for each time it fails. You tell me who BankNewport is most concerned with? I am moving my account to a bank that ACTUALLY cares about the customer. $90 for a payment that was short a few dollars is ABUSIVE. DO NOT USE THIS BANK!! You have been warned!!

Tried to use my debit card to use my debit card on Saturday evening for an emergency home repair. It was declined twice, because the bank was having “maintenance”... I had plenty of funds, but could not access them nor reach a service representative to verify through a customer service person that my check would be good. BankNewport does not provide customer service for these times...they should. That’s my money. The bank’s maintenance should not get in the way of me paying for household emergencies. Shame on whoever thought this was a good idea. Terrible time to do this during a pandemic, as well.

The bank closed while I was waiting in line , the teller took the car before me but not my car because it was passed time. Even though I waited. Trash.

I am so done with this bank. They roped me in by saying if I transfer all my savings and all my business accounts :with them then they will help me refinance my business and home. Nope they didn’t happen. They gave me a horrible rate and denied me the second time I applied.Then a money transfer went missing for months and they couldn’t track it so $4000 lost.Then during the pandemic the same money transfer got misplaced again losing $2000And also during the pandemic they wouldn’t allow me to put money stops on all my bills when I lost my job. And the money stops they could put on they still wanted $30 per transaction to stop payment even when the world was falling apart and people who lost so much needed sympathy and relief.They are out for themselves and don’t care about their customers.

Literally worst and least accommodating bank ever. Super rude customer service, and when the atm took over 60$ from me they basically told me sucks to suck. Shout out to the teller who was absolutely atrocious. Been a customer here for almost ten years...definitely closing my accounts with them.

This is a TERRIBLE BANK! I got charged almost $400 on overdrafts thinking that I have money in my card and they didn't even bother to call me to let me know about this. HORRIBLE BANK, I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT'S!!! I repeated do NOT BANK HERE YOU WILL BE IN HUGE TROUBLE!!!!

This is a terrable bank company, they do not care about their clients!!! The fee are insane high!!! And they do not even bother to inform you about your overdraft fees ... they dont even help you to resolve the issue to make it more convenient for you to pay!!!
