If you’re in Newport and looking for a fantastic nail salon, The Nail Files is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel completely at ease with their warm smiles and friendly vibe.
My nail tech (I wish I remembered her name!) was the absolute sweetest. She’s a retired teacher, and it shows in the most wonderful way – incredibly thoughtful, careful, and so attentive to detail. She took her time, made sure everything was perfect, and chatted with me like an old friend. You could tell she genuinely cares about her clients, and that kind of service is rare.
If I’m ever in town again, I’ll definitely be back!

Worst mani pedi I received in RI. Place is not clean. Don’t use disposable covers for pedicure tanks, nails and nail dust everywhere. Mani pedi quality was also low. Didn’t fully remove my previous regular polish. Barely cut/file my nails. Staff was friendly. I really wanted to find reasons to like this place. Not going back.

i got a gel french manicure with an acrylic tip on two fingers (because the natural nail had broken) and it took two hours :( and, the acrylic tip broke off after two days. the ladies were so sweet and it was a very welcoming experience but one of the reasons it took two hours was because my nail tech kept getting up and standing in the back room for five minutes at a time. then, she rushed my friends appointment and didn’t clean under her nails or anything and charged her twice what she had paid another time. i see the potential, but i wish there was more consistency in pricing and i wish that it was a more efficient and better quality. it’s very possible that the issue was just my nail tech, but i do not recommend a gel manicure from here

While I enjoy this nail salon, my experience greatly depends on the nail tech. Tiffany or Anajae typically do great work, my gel manicures will usually last around 2 weeks (or sometimes more) and are beautiful. I've gotten a couple gel manis with Renee and they all have started chipping or come off completely after 3-4 days. Wish there was more consistency, especially since prices have increased since they re-opened last year.

I normally don’t write reviews but this seems to be a normal occurrence for a lot of people. I got a pedicure and a Gel X tips manicure there 4 days ago, I was there for 3 hours, didn’t get the design I wanted and I paid for the signature pedicure (hot stone, sugar scrub, etc) and gel polish. 8 hours later they all peeled off my toes. Then just yesterday, all the tips peeled off my fingers. I really wanted to like this place and I’m giving it 2 stars because they were so nice but I’m extremely disappointed that I paid $165 for these including a tip and they all fell off within a few hours - days. I tried to contact them and no one has gotten back to me yet. I’ve never had gel polish or tips fall off that fast before. I hope others have a better experience than I did and if not, maybe they’ll actually get back to you.

Phenomenal experience. The tech was extremely polite. And the service was great. I received an acrylic fill and the Volcano pedicure. I highly recommend!

The shop has been renovated beautifully with new massage chairs, etc. Tiffany was so nice and explained every step she was doing from the citrus water to the scrub and mask. A very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend'

This place was quietly tucked away on a side road shopping area. I'm visiting Newport and needed to get a fill done and this is where I landed. The staff was extremely nice and took such good care of me. While I waited, I sat in the pedicure chair and enjoyed a nice little massage. I also was offered a neck warmer which really helped take the pressure off my shoulders. The conversation with the nail tech was very natural and refreshing. Sometimes I hate just sitting there and trying to find an odd place to stare. (Ha Ha). Overall for the price my nails came out as expected. The shape was SPOT on which is the biggest issue I typically have. This time it was the curing of my polish. There were several bumpy/flaky areas which kind of made my nails look weird. The color was beautiful though. Not an awful place but was slightly disappointed with the nails.
