Every time I visit this location there are groups of 2 – 3 young employees at the front end chatting among each other.Today I had to interrupt a group of 3 junior employees huddled in conversation to ask for an item location. After shopping, I went to self checkout and there were no bags at any of the checkout terminals so I had to interrupt a pair standing there chatting to ask. The girl walked away without saying anything - so I waited assuming she was going to get them. She returned and gave me a bag and I said thank you. Again, she walked away without saying anything. As I left she said ‘Have a good day!’. I thought she was talking to me so I looked back just to realize she was talking to someone else. She then just gave me a blank look as I walked out the door.HD customer service – if you think I’m exaggerating, you have my name above and you can look up transaction time and view the security tape.Teach these kids some damn manner!P.S. On the other hand – the young woman at the customer service desk was very polite.

Most things available from this home depot. Including a large outdoor landscaping and plant area. Plenty of soil pavers and even grass sod for the keen. Also, a nice discounted Timber section if you're looking for an off cut or two. I've saved quite a bit by giving it a browse. Staff are friendly and sometimes even helpful.

Nonexistent customer service. Asked no less than 10 employees for help and was told its not their area. Went to Customer Service and ask for help. Waited another 10 minutes with no help... Left store...

Home Depot's garden center is an absolute delight that never disappoints; from the herbs we love down to flowers to make our yard shine. The rest is a great value for the money, especially finding the clearance sections and hidden deals. We love the race car buggy's for our littles as well. Whether it's finding play sand for our daughter's birthday or sealant to fix the bulkhead, they consistently have everything we need. Moreover, their extensive range of paint colors ensures that we always find the perfect shade. A reliable go-to for all our DIY needs.

The customer service is awful. Employees will walk past you and not even acknowledge you, ask if you need help. I went to find a register to check out, and there were four employees standing in a group talking. None of the four once again acknowledge that I was looking for an open register with an employee. Finally, I found ONE, just ONE register open. Terrible customer service.

I worked in Retail for 10 years, so I know how it all works, and this store is by far the worst! Recently, I went in to get help with Trex. There were no employees in sight. When my SO went to find someone, they said they only worked plumbing and could not help me. Whaaaaat??? He asked me 3 times what I was referring to to which I replied... Trex... Composite Decking... Decking, but not wood. He said he had no idea as I directed him to the display. At last, he finds the Assistant Store Manager... He can help! The ASM tells me the Customer Service Desk, the one that handles returns can help me with that? Ummm... No! Rather than escort me, or have an associate walk me over, he points. Are you kidding me?? To humor him and waste my own time, I walked over to find one 20-something worker who looked like he had never labored his entire life was on the phone with a customer. Rather than waste additional time, I walked out and ordered online. I also HAVE to buy things here for work as I work in Newport, and the employees are mostly unhelpful and absolutely miserable. Listen, I didn't choose your job. If you don't want to help me, that's fine, but it is your job. You get paid to help me, wear a smile and do your job! The self checkouts are a mixed bag. One day there was literally only one open with a line of 6 customers waiting to be rung out? Is this real life? OPEN A REGULAR REGISTER AND RING PEOPLE OUT! You literally have 2 in the Pro section. Pull someone from the floor and expedite the service! What a waste of time! Worst managed store ever! FIX IT!

Bought an old gift card with pealing card number and pin and the whole store couldn't switch it up for the new one. This is unacceptable. I have to give this to a co-worker with an embarrassment instead of a joy. The worst experience I've had in this store for years of leaving here.

Worst customer service in the world. Needs new management. Three examples from the last couple of years: 1. During the mandatory masking phase of the pandemic the checkout clerk kept pulling down her mask, and yelled at me when I asked her to stay masked. Store policy was that employees remained masked at all times, she did not care and neither did management. 2. I ordered an item for curbside pickup. I did everything they told me to do, parked in the right space, called the right number, and they told me it would be right out. Twenty minutes later, nothing. Called them again. Again, no delivery. Finally gave up. 3. I ordered some garage cabinets this week online because the store did not have enough in stock. It was supposed to be delivered to my home. Instead I got an email from UPS saying "Jason" had signed for it and it had been delivered. Don't really know any Jasons, and it was definitely not delivered. Spent better part of the afternoon on the phone, everyone blaming everyone else while the cabinets were at the store two miles away. UPS took them to the store, and whoever was in receiving (I assume "Jason") signed it in to the store, even though it was addressed to me. It took me about an hour just to track down where the delivery was. The UPS receipt said it was delivered to my address. The order was for my address. A neighbor? Somebody with a similar sounding street? I didn't know. And the local costumer service folks just tried to palm it off on UPS or refer me to the online site (which referred me back to the local store, which referred me to UPS, which would not allow me to flag the delivery because the Home Depot site would not allow me to complain to UPS, for whom there was no phone number. Then I talked to an independent contractor customer service rep who lived in Louisiana, and could not refer me to a manager to straighten it out, because, in her words, "I don't have a supervisor". So, Home Depot, three strikes and you are out. Never liked shopping there, too much stuff in a big box. While waiting on line for somebody to figure something out I researched alternative stores and discovered that Lowe's had the same thing for much cheaper. And they could get it to my house in about the same time it would take Home Depot to get a driver and truck to deliver it to my house two miles away. I recommend Lowe's or the Ace Hardware in Portsmouth. I suspect that anyone complimenting customer service at this location is probably related to an employee.
