As always, everyone is fabulous. We usually see Dr. Wirth, or Fain or Wood who are AMAZING, but this time Dr. Passierb is treating my boy for an eye issue. As usual, Im totally impressed :) thank you all for being so organized at the desk, sending records, & keeping things running smoothly!

I had a visit today and I would have to say Dr. Phan is wonderful. However, her stuff sucks! When my dog was on the table, I kept seeing her squirm around and at first I couldn't understand it because she is never squirming like that, but we haven't been to the vet in a long time, so I just chalked it up as something new. Then halfway through the exam, I heard my dog yelp and my dog never yelps, and that's when I realized the assistant was squeezing her too tight! When I asked her about it, instead of her being shocked or saying, no, she hesitated, and didn't say anything for like a second, and then finally responded, which is a sure sign that was exactly what she was doing! I would never say anything bad about Dr. Phan, but the assistance I would not trust as far as I could throw them! The wait time was crazy, I called to see if the doctor was running on time she said maybe 5 minutes difference, they were almost a half hour behind schedule. I did not call to have her guesstimate the time. The receptionist should've gone in there and made sure the doctor was either going to need more time or not. It's awful when you can't trust staff, or any other medical people.

The team here helped me with the USDA certification and the paperwork to take my cat to Japan on military PCS orders. I was so stressed because I lost the paperwork from my hometown vet, as I was only here temporarily in transit, and they helped me get to a place where I can still take my senior kitty to my new duty station and we can be together for her golden years. Super kind, super helpful, and super empathetic to my situation. I highly recommend them, and I wish their team the very best in the future.

Kitty is feeling better When the time comes that I need help with his care I will call Thanks for letting me know that you are available for care. I didn't know you were an emergency hospital for animals. It's a bit of a drive and kitty doesn't do well in the car. Thanks.

I put my dog down here on 2/21. The vet tech took down all the info; private cremation, type of urn etc. She never told us we had to call Final Gifts to order & pay for urn. NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!! My son paid for the bill; did NOT receive a copy of the breakdown; just cc receipt. Then I got a call from final gifts to ask for information re: urn & method of payment. I will NEVER use Newport Animal Hospital again!!! NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!! Plus their prices are very high!!!

No words an expression my gratitude to this hospital! When no other Animal Hospital would take us with Lucia they did!! The kind and caring doctors and staff are beyond compare to any other hospital that I have experienced!! The 35 minute ride is nothing knowing that your pet is going to get the best care and compassion from the best doctors and staff! Thank you so much for the very best care that you have given my Lucia !

I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. I switched vets after a number of years hoping to find somewhere that cared not only about my pet, but was able to communicate effectively and compassionately with myself as an owner. Newport Animal Hospital did not disappoint. From the moment I walked in for my first appointment, not only did I feel welcomed, but was impressed with the cleanliness and style. During my appointment and most recent surgery with my cat, Earl, I have never felt more cared for by a staff. From the front desk, to vet techs, to our vet, Dr. Pasierb, I felt 100% comfortable with my pet being in the best hands and being fully explained what and why everything was happening (which wasn't the case at our last place.) The fact that our vet called during the surgery and then 24 hours afterwards to check in, meant a lot. NAH won't BS you with prices and are more than reasonable compared to other places I've been to or looked at. Basically to summarize: this place is a no brainer to bring your furry family member and I wish I'd been a client sooner!

Pretty much the only choice, but even if there was significant competition, they would win out all the business. Beautiful office, kind staff, knowledgeable veterinarians. Not sure what else you would need for your fur companies

We recently moved to the area and two weeks in our dog started to not be able to walk. I called and was told even emergent situations are booking 6-7 week out. Then I was given three other places to call which weren't very local at all. In my opinion as a customer, a good vet would have been willing to help us get an appointment sooner rather than later.

I am Ozzy, Katie's & Wolfies Dad. Ozzy needed his thyroid check to adjust his medication, and with his new Hills Science Diet medicated dog food and the pills Doctor wood prescribed for an 12 year old Pom he can still fight better and look better than any other dog. Ha ha!! Really though the staff is always fantastic I know Ozzy doesn't look like a puppy anymore but they treat him like the most special dog in the room. I love Newport Animal Hospital. I'm a fellow business owner, please be kind to them, it's a tough job for everyone.

The Newport Animal Hospital took our Hazel in for an injured leg. No waiting, took her right in. Subsequently, she has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition. The NAH found the issue and acted immediately, getting me in touch with Tufts for treatment at their cardiology hospital. Dr. Perry's concern for our little Hazel was heart warming. She made us feel at ease. We are hoping for the best with surgery for Hazel. Newport Animal Hospital personnel are professional with extensive knowledge that just might save Hazel's life. We are grateful!

Amazing veterinary staff all around. They are what you seek in veterinary care, a combination of reliable expertise and professional compassion for your animal. They made my dog feel so loved, she wags her tail there as if it was a surprise party in her honor. They explained everything, it was simple, well organized staff working synchronously from check in to check out.One moment I won’t forget, was the way the staff was so genuinely caring for my gal, notably when they were certainly unaware that I had seen it. There was a point in the process where a large needle was required. In all that goes into that process, pandemic or not, I was moved by a staff member who whispered sweet kind words in my dog’s ear as she held my dog for the shot, basically not realizing that I saw/heard it from my angle. In my humble opinion, that speaks volumes as to why:1) My dog was surprisingly at ease for a giant needle [I can attest that even my docile dog does not normally handle that well].2) It is my unbiased pleasure to confidently recommend Newport Animal hospital for any veterinary care.

Once again, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Christine Fain for her exceptional treatment of all of my Pembroke Welsh Corgis. A year ago, my male long haired corgi Yogi became incontinent and I was constantly washing his belly bands (dog diapers). Then he fell down two flights of stairs because he had lost control of his legs. His legs were paralyzed. I contacted the Newport Animal Hospital and Dr. Fain was able to accommodate me immediately. Upon examination, she determined that Yogi had a ruptured disc in his spine. She performed the euthanasia with incredible gentleness and compassion. She allowed me all the time I wanted to remain with Yogi in the examination room after the procedure. My oldest corgi, Casey, although a puppy mill rescue. never suffered from any health problems and lived to be 16 and a half years old. However, he suddenly developed recurrent seizures and Dr. Fain thought it was very likely he had a brain tumor. She performed the euthanasia with great sensitivity and skill, explaining every step of the procedure. Dr. Fain is an extraordinary vet. She has treated all of my corgis. Most recently she diagnosed my third corgi, Kira with a rare form of colitis; eosinophilic colitis. This condition had baffled other veterinarians. She initiated a treatment plan for Kira and now at six years of age, Kira is perfectly healthy. I am deeply indebted to Dr. Fain for saving Kira's life. I cannot give Dr. Fain enough accolades. She is a veterinarian par excellence!

We used to bring our beloved family dog here. I would say they were generally mediocre in veterinary care. It depends which vet you get. However, I am writing this because when our dog got a persistent cough, the vet x-rayed her chest and said she had an enlarged heart and recommended I put her to sleep. I thought that was very sudden and premature and said I just wanted to bring her home to think about it. They called me at my house the next day to ask when I was going to bring her in to have her put down. We didn't right away, but eventually we did bring her in because they convinced us that it would spare her pain, and that we would be giving her "a gift." But, actually, it was horrifying. I considered going into the detail here of the experience, but I think you would vomit and become depressed so I won't. Suffice it to say that when Dr. Wood put her down, it was like watching someone slowly strangle your best friend to death. If it had gone the way we thought it would, we would not be completely traumatized, but it left us all feeling as if we had just witnessed something downright evil and torturous. I have honestly never heard of this happening when an animal is put down. Never. Do not trust these people with the one you love.

My pup chipped his tooth and we knew we needed to have it checked out. The only issue is that we had just moved to the state and everything was shut down because of COVID. We had tried several places and none were taking new patients or willing to help us. Not only was NAH able to get us in right away, they were so kind and curious to us. My pup used to get nervous at our old vet and they'd literally have to drag him to go to do any procedure. From the first moment we got here my dog walked right in, and was very calm for his exam. When I did drop him off for his surgical tooth removal he happily went with the tech who came to get him, no dragging required - I was honestly so shocked. In addition to the fact that my pup seems so relaxed here I was happy with the care we got. When I remembered last minute that he needed a vaccine during our initial intake appointment they did it right then and there. My old vet definitively would have made us come back, or wait longer to get it done. Best of all my dog had his cracked tooth removed and had an easy recovery! I can't speak to their high prices that everyone seems to have an issue with since we have very good pet insurance, but I didn't find the bills exorbitantly high. THANK YOU NAH!!!
