A Market, a second-generation, independently owned and operated grocery store, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Established in 1970, the store promotes the concept of healthy living, offering a variety of wholesome and organic foods, as well as homeopathic, herbal, and vitamin supplements. The store strives to provide the community with a comfortable, exciting, and enjoyable shopping experience, encouraging community education through reference materials, free lectures, and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Customers describe A Market as a "great little supermarket" with a "gourmet" or "different" selection of products, though some find the prices to be "awfully expensive." The store is compared to a "mini Whole Foods," with a focus on healthy and organic items, but some customers have expressed disappointment with the quality of pre-made items, such as a "shameful" Caesar salad. Overall, the store is praised for its wide variety of natural and specialty products, as well as its helpful and friendly staff, though the prices may be a concern for some shoppers.
